Today is all about raising awareness of the critical role that oceans play in our lives, highlighting threats and promoting action to protect marine life.

Making small changes to your daily life can have a massive impact on our oceans to protect them.
For example:
🌊Ditch single-use plastics where you can – use a reusable water bottle and shopping bags.
🌊Help to clean local beaches to eliminate rubbish ending up in the sea.
🌊Checking labels on food and choosing the sustainable option to reduce pressure of over-fishing.

Our oceans produce over 50% of our planets oxygen so we need to do what we can to keep it clean!

A message from Katy for Volunteers Week...

This week, we want to say a huge thank you to our incredible volunteer student counsellors in Sefton.

From January to May this year, you have supported 100 clients, delivering an amazing 695 hours of counselling. That’s 695 hours of listening, compassion, and support for people during some of the most difficult times in their lives. But it’s not just about the numbers, it’s about the difference you’ve made.

“I have got my self-respect and self-worth back… I feel light.”
“Thank you for the support to help me at my lowest.”
“I felt at ease… I feel like a weight has been lifted.”

Every piece of feedback tells the same story, your work is changing lives.

Because of you, people are rebuilding confidence, finding hope, and feeling less alone. That impact goes far beyond the counselling room and into families, relationships, and our wider community.

We are so proud of each one of you. Thank you for your dedication, thank you for your compassion

Today is a global call to action to protect our planet. You can make small changes in your life which can have a big impact on the environment.

For example:
💚Ditch single-use plastic where you can - use a reusable water bottle and shopping bags.
💚Plan your meals and use up left-overs.
💚Conserve energy by turning off lights and unplugging appliances when not in use rather than using standby function.
💚If you have a garden, or space to do so, plant wildflowers to attract bees or install a bug hotel. Also have a go at growing your own vegetables!
💚Help out in your community – clear litter where possible and help out clearing local parks etc.
💚Educate yourself! Take some time to read about how your actions have an impact on our planet and how you can lead a more sustainable life.

Our planet is beautiful and we need to protect it 💚🌏.
