I think this one needed to be talked about!

Today on This Morning, there was a segment discussing gel polish and the potential risks surrounding it — but as a small, independent beauty professional, I was really disappointed by the way the conversation came across.

There’s a HUGE difference between educating people about safe gel application, allergies and the importance of using products correctly… and making people feel that they should only trust large salons or that small independent businesses are somehow less safe. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Small businesses can be highly trained, insured, professional and incredibly passionate about the safety of their clients.

We absolutely should be having conversations about responsible gel use, proper application, curing, allergies and education — but the information needs to be balanced, accurate and fair to the thousands of responsible independent nail and beauty professionals working hard every day.

So I wanted to share my thoughts as someone actually working within the industry.
