Some patients have told us they like it because it helps them get through quickly without waiting in a telephone queue. Others have told us they prefer speaking to a member of our reception team.
In response to this feedback, we've made a change. When you call the practice, you can now choose whether to speak to Reception or use AI Emma. If you prefer a person, that's absolutely fine. If you'd rather use AI Emma, you can often get what you need without waiting.
Our aim is to find the right balance between maintaining the human touch that many patients value and reducing waiting times for everyone.
We've also made some other improvements based on what we've learned. For repeat prescription requests, AI Emma will now send you a link to complete your request or transfer you to our reception team if needed. We continue to recommend the NHS App as the quickest and safest way to order repeat prescriptions.
You may also notice that AI Emma now asks for your details at the start of the call rather than the end.
We're keen to keep learning and improving. We'd love to hear from patients who like AI Emma and from those who don't.
What do you like about it? What don't you like? Has it made things easier, harder, or no different for you?
Your feedback helps shape how we run the practice, and we genuinely do listen.
