I wouldn't normally post a GoFundMe however, this couple like many others living with chronic health & now cancer deserve a f'in break. I can't remember a time online when I haven't been friends with Jane & been in awe of her resilience, her creations at Cascading Wood Designs- art by Jane Litwin Taylor, & the love these 2 have for eachother.

After years of taking care of Jane a long time advocate & member of the migraine community, the tables have been cruelly turned, Jane with her chronic health is now navigating the vicious corridors of the US health system to support Patrick's fight with cancer.

These are exceptional circumstances & 2 very exceptional human beings, they need help and they need it now.

Dear friends, family, and community, We are reaching out to yโ€ฆ Andrea Wixson needs your support for Support Jane and Patrick Through This Cancer Crisis

A friend sent this over this morning, on the whole very informative & something I'll be referring to when I pop back to the GP [again] it is something I feel is overlooked by our docs and on several occasions my old GP raised an eyebrow when I requested my vitamin / mineral levels be checked and they rarely did.

We have to remember our body is unique to us, what is classed as a normal level for average jo may not be right for you.

Dr John Campbell asked me what standard migraine care misses. Most ...

Visual Triggers are a nightmare when trying to access more info especially with Social Media. With that in mind my linktree has a link to the only (currently) group that is completely free of the usual visual triggers when scrolling including bold print, all main posts must be narrative only , links / graphics are only allowed in comments. Access is straight from my linktree "about me" box without being exposed to the triggers found on facebook. Any problems please message Yorkshire Migraine .

Whiplash & Head Pain

I learned many years ago from an older colleague what my future held after sustaining whiplash injuries, she was then where I am now, experiencing extreme pain & discomfort.

I was a passenger in a car that was rear-ended by a bus, doctors smiled & some people openly ridiculed accusing me of going for the money, at the time it was not taken seriously by anybody.

5 years post crash I was still experiencing neck, head & arm pain on top of my then episodic migraine attacks. I was exhausted & then a friend suggested I see a chiropractor.

Thanks to the Westfield scheme I was able to have a years worth of weekly treatment at the Hillsborough chiropractic clinic, the neck, head & shoulder pain eased considerably. I was also vindicated with a letter from the chiropractor stating what the problem was, it was real & I was believed.

As migraineurs we've all been there with the bloody naysayers who doubt our symptoms, I carry that letter for several years just to shut the Mignorants up ๐Ÿ˜
Vertebrae mechanically displaced & trapping nerves.

I noticed the numbness several years later, by then I didn't have the funds for the clinic & the Gp, well less said the better ๐Ÿ™„

It was a kean eyed radiographer that spotted the slippage / instability in my neck bones & the accompanying bone spurs.
I finally saw a neck specialist around 20yrs post crash thanks to that radiographer. It wasn't bad enough then, bloody painful but not that bad, I was discharged.

By then I was experiencing chronic migraine thanks to menopause, I'd managed my condition as best as I could.

Think it was 2022 I was admitted to hospital with status Migrainous, I kept telling the doctors this was not my normal hemiplegic migraine, the pain wasn't originating in the usual spot or from exposure to my normal triggers. Lumber puncture, oramorph etc .

I did my research & figured it was
either Cervicogenic / Occipital Neuralgia co-existing with my chronic migraine. I'd been on the laptop at a bad angle, my neck had become irritated & inflamed. Still my old Gp was not helpful

Fast forward to now, I'm having physio to address the neck, it's not easy , the pain & pins & needles are bloody awful but I'm hoping it will improve.

Thankful I changed my Gp & found someone who would listen.

My advice, if you've experienced whiplash, see your GP & a chiropractor, ask for a long term diagnosis on record & regular visits to a physio, if its due to an accident & insurance is involved have them take into account your long term health needs & the costs involved as these could be significant. Had I been aware at the time & been able to access the chiropractor regularly after my Westfield scheme stopped I honestly believe my neck stability would not be as painful as it is today.

Citrus free community, trying to find products that are safe for use is a nightmare where you need a good magnifying glass, time & much patience to research the ingredient lists of everything & an internet link to see what's too insignificant to list on the packaging's ingredient list.

Its exhausting and for those of us dealing with hair & skin crisis it can be doubly infuriating.

Inecto has been my go to for years since I was unable to use my favourite hair products, it didn't stop the peri to post scalp itch but it did keep my hair condition in check. Since it's no longer available I've been looking like a scarecrow ๐Ÿคจ

Daughter has managed to find another oil ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿฅณโ™ฅ๏ธ I lathered my head in it & the 5yr itch stopped, washed it several hours later & put a smaller amount on, still no itch & its citrus free.

Current migraine triggered by perfumed lady Thursday last ๐Ÿ™„
Just didn't get my mask in fast enough.
