❤️ In Loving Memory of Hilary Ecob ❤️

On the 24th August 2026 we said goodbye to a truly special lady, a much-loved wife, mum and a cherished grandmother.
Hilary passed away peacefully after a short illness surrounded by her loving family.

Hilary was at the heart of our family, giving love, warmth and kindness so freely. Her place in our lives can never be replaced, and the emptiness she leaves behind is impossible to put into words.

We will treasure every memory, every smile, every laugh and every precious moment we were lucky enough to share with her.

Although our hearts are broken, we take comfort in knowing that Hilary’s love will live on through Peter, Angela, Andy, Oliver & Amelia and everyone whose life she touched.

You will never be forgotten, Hilary.
You will be loved, remembered and missed every single day.

Reunited with her son Steve.

Rest peacefully, beautiful lady. Until we meet again. 🕊️❤️

Funeral service will take place on Monday 1.15pm 14th September 2026 at Hutcliffe Wood Crematorium Periwood Ln, Beauchief, Sheffield S8 0HP, followed afterwards to raise a glass for Hilary at Aston Hall Cricket Club, Green Ln, Aston, Sheffield S26 2BD.

No dress code, Hilary loved all colours, especially yellow and blue.

Family flowers only, donations if so desired to Thornberry Animal Sanctuary where Hilary loved to help animals in need.

LINDA MAXTED
9 July 1949 – 26 June 2026

Beloved wife of Peter, devoted mother to Richard, Beth and Tom, and much-loved Grandma to Holly, Lucy and Melissa, was called home to God on Friday 26 June 2026.

Linda was a faithful and dedicated volunteer in God's Church, giving her time with generosity and commitment over many years at both Swallownest Baptist Church and All Saints Church Aston, and through her involvement with Aston Churches Together. She served in many roles, including teaching Sunday school, leading youth groups, preparing families for infant baptism, leading prayers and house groups, serving as a PCC member and Laughton Deanery Synod Secretary, and volunteering at
countless church events and fundraising activities.

Her Christian faith inspired a lifelong commitment to serving her community. She was passionate about challenging injustice, caring for those in need, and ensuring that everyone felt heard and supported. She was an integral part of Neighbourhood Watch for over 30 years, founding Aston-cum-Aughton with Ulley NW, serving as chair of Rotherham NW, and a trustee at South Yorkshire NW; seeing it as a pastoral ministry through which she offered practical help, encouragement, and a listening ear to countless people.

Linda was a treasured friend to many. She was a joyful person whose kindness, warmth and infectious laugh will be remembered with great affection by all who knew and loved her.

Her funeral will be at All Saints Church, Aston, at 11:00am on Wednesday 29th July 2026, followed by burial at Holy Trinity Church, Ulley. Tea, coffee and cakes will be served at All Saints Church, Aston, afterwards.
All who knew Linda are warmly welcome to attend to say goodbye and to celebrate her life.

If you are unable to be present, please remember Linda in your prayers.
