Marfleet lan, “Bruce” late of Judith Road, Aston, sadly passed away on Monday 8th June 2026 at Rotherham Hospice aged 77 Years.

A much loved Husband to Susan for 42 Years, loving Dad, Grandad & Gt Grandad & friend to many.

Bruce was a retired miner / joiner and loved to do odd jobs at the club. lan loved the Wales Jubilee Club and was a big part of the fixtures and fittings there.

Bruce was a member of the RAOB.

Funeral service will be held on Friday 26th June 2026 at Rotherham Crematorium 11.45am.
Family flowers only please, donations will be given to Rotherham Hospice.

I was privileged to be present at the D-Day memorial service at Rotherham Crematorium today, representing the Yorkshire Area Federation.

Thank you, Kim Phillips, for organizing a heartfelt service to honor our fallen servicemen.

It was wonderful to see a group of schoolchildren come and lay poppies.

Jean had jobs at Aughton Primary School, Siddalls, Royal Oak(Maggies), and Swallownest Social club.

Funeral service to take place on Tuesday, 26th May 2026, at St Leonard's Church, Dinnington, at 11:00 am, followed by burial at Alexandra Road Cemetery at 12:00 pm. Family flowers only, please; donations to Alzheimer’s and Vascular Dementia.

Baker Patricia, “Pat” late of Aston, sadly passed away on Sunday 26th April 2026 at Gateford Hill Care Home, Worksop aged 88 Years.

Pat was a beloved wife to the late Ernest for 50 years,
And a much loved Aunt to many.

Pat and Ernest liked to travel with their Motorhome.

Green Beryl, late of Ivyside Close, Killamarsh, sadly passed away at Nethermoor Care Home, Killamarsh on Saturday, 28th March 2026, aged 79 years. Beryl lived in Killamarsh all her life; she was raised by her grandparents on Ashley Lane.

Beryl leaves her much-loved husband, Charles, whom she courted for three years before marrying. Charles and Beryl were married for 57 years. She was so loved and will be missed.

Funeral service will take place on Thursday 7th May 2026 at St Giles Church at 12.00pm followed by burial in Killamarsh Cemetery.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Willert, who died peacefully on Friday 17th April 2026 at Rotherham Hospital.

Our hearts are extremely heavy as we share this news with all those who knew her. Mary was a beloved, kind and devoted wife, mum, grandma and friend, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Mary’s Christian faith was at the heart of who she
was, and it showed in the way she cared for others with compassion, generosity, and a readiness to help whenever she could.

The funeral service will take place at Rotherham Crematorium on Thursday 30th April at 1.15pm, followed by a service of thanksgiving at C3 Hope Church, Bernard Road, Sheffield S2 5BQ at 2.45pm. All family and friends are welcome to attend and celebrate Mary’s life; she requested that everyone attend in bright colours and any donations be made to C3 Hope community projects rather than flowers.

George Alan Hadfield, 90, passed away peacefully on 31 March 2026 after a short illness.
He is survived by his daughters Linda, Melanie and Lisa, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and his special friend Margaret.
He was predeceased by his wives, Barbara June (née Lindop) and Janet (née McAllen).

Born on 25 January 1936, he was the son of George and Vera, and brother to Avis.
He completed national service with the RAF in Germany and later trained as an electrical engineer.

He will be remembered for his independence, strong principles, intellectual curiosity and dry sense of humour.

Funeral at All Saints Church, Aston at 2:30pm on Monday 20 April, followed by interment at Swallownest Cemetery and afterwards at The Red Lion, Todwick.
No flowers. Donations, if desired, to Ward 1A (Hadfield Ward), Northern General Hospital.
