BBC Look North did a great story on the importance of MenB vaccinations last night, starring our pharmacist Julie and superstar patient Lily.

If you are 18 or about to start university for the first time, we’ll be offering meningitis B vaccines on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays all summer. You need two doses at least 4 weeks apart so come and get the first one as soon as you can. (If vaccinations make you nervous or anxious, let us know, and we will do it at your pace)

Is your child about to go to university for the first time? They can now get a free NHS meningitis B vaccination at our pharmacy.

You might have seen Meningitis B outbreaks in the news recently. To reduce the chance of further outbreaks, the NHS are offering Meningitis B vaccines to teenagers just finishing year 13 , and to under 25s who are about to go to university (or residential education) for the first time.

We will be running vaccination clinics on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays throughout the summer (and will be able offer other times by prior arrangement- just ask). Go to https://wickerclinic.co.uk/nhs-men-b-vaccine for more information and to book.

The annual patient satisfaction survey – based on more than half a million responses across England – have been released. 89% of patients reported a positive experience in pharmacies – up for the third year running and very significantly higher than GP practices, NHS services out of hours or dental practices.

We’re offering NHS meningitis B vaccines on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays starting 20th July. If you have just finished year 13 at school you can book via nhs.uk/book-menb . If you are under 25 and about to start at uni/further education for the first time then you can not book via the nhs site, but can use the pharmacy walk in vaccination service as long as you bring proof of age and proof of attendance at uni for the first time (eg an offer letter). If you’d prefer to book directly with us you can do so at https://wicker.co.uk/bookings/
