Neurological outcome is becoming an increasingly important endpoint in cardiac arrest research, because survival alone doesn’t tell the full story.
In the SYMEVECA phase 2 study, favourable neurological outcome at discharge or 28 days (CPC 1–2) was reported in:
• 16% of patients in the CCSV group
• 12.4% with IPPV
• 9.4% with bag-valve-mask ventilation
The findings reinforce the importance of ventilation strategy during OHCA resuscitation.
Chest Compression-Synchronised Ventilation (CCSV) is available on the MEDUMAT Standard², designed for ventilation during ongoing CPR.
