🏏 Cricket Cube at Porterbrook!
We absolutely love it when Cricket Cube visit the home. They always get our residents moving, smiling, and joining in. The sessions are full of fun, gentle activity, and plenty of laughter.

It’s wonderful to see everyone enjoying something a bit different and staying active together. Moments like these really brighten the home. 💛

There’s nothing quite like the Proms and our residents absolutely loved settling in our cinema to enjoy the music in all its glory. Beautiful performances, big smiles, and a lovely afternoon spent together soaking up the atmosphere.

Moments like these remind us how special shared experiences can be, especially when the music is this good.

There’s nothing quite like a good old brain‑teaser to get everyone smiling and thinking! At Porterbrook Care Home, we always love our puzzle days , they’re the perfect mix of fun, focus and a little friendly competition.

From crosswords to number puzzles and everything in between, our residents always enjoy keeping their minds active and sharing a few laughs along the way. It’s amazing what a bit of teamwork and brainpower can do!

With so many birthdays to celebrate, our kitchen has been busy baking up a storm! Whether our residents share the same birthday or celebrate on different days, everyone receives their very own special birthday cake. 🎈🎁

A huge thank you to our talented kitchen team, who lovingly bake and hand-decorate each cake from scratch, making every birthday extra special. Their creativity and care help make these celebrations truly memorable for our residents. ❤️

💖 Remembering Dolly Parton 💖

This morning, we spent some time reminiscing about the incredible life and career of the one and only Dolly Parton. 🌟

We enjoyed watching 9 to 5 together on our big screen, and it certainly got everyone talking! From her unforgettable music and acting career to her kindness and generosity, Dolly has touched the hearts of so many people over the years. 🎶✨

The film sparked some wonderful conversations, with residents sharing their favourite Dolly memories, songs, and stories. It was a lovely way to celebrate a true icon and reflect on the joy she has brought to generations.

Thank you, Dolly, for the music, the laughter, and the memories. ❤️

🧇✨ Happy National Waffle Day! ✨🧇

We are always on the lookout for new and exciting dishes to delight our residents, so when National Waffle Day appeared on the calendar, we simply couldn't resist adding waffles to the menu! 😋

Residents enjoyed a choice of sweet or savoury toppings at breakfast, but there was one clear lunchtime favourite... waffles topped with cream and juicy raspberries! 🍓🍦

Our wonderful Nutrition Champion, Mel, was kept busy in the dining room creating these delicious treats, carefully assembling each waffle under the watchful (and very eager!) eyes of our residents. 😊

It was lovely to see so many smiles around the table as everyone tucked into this special treat and celebrated together, with some requesting “seconds”!!

🎉 Love Is in the Air at The Porterbrook! 💕🥂

Happy 66th Wedding Anniversary to Joan and Donald! ❤️ What an incredible milestone and what a joy to celebrate it together.

They marked the occasion in style, raising a glass with the wonderful friends they’ve made here at The Porterbrook. There were stories, laughter, shared memories… and yes, a few cheeky tales that had everyone giggling. 🍷😂

Here’s to 66 years of love, laughter and mischief*— a truly remarkable achievement. 💕

Yesterday we enjoyed our regular Nit & Natter group, spending time together chatting about all our memories and sharing different stories over a nice cup of tea or coffee. ☕️🧶

Later in the afternoon, we held our residents’ meeting, where we then introduced our new Resident Ambassador, Donald. It was a lovely opportunity for the residents to be able to share their thoughts, any new ideas and to have their say about life at The Porterbrook. 💙
