Did you know the average hypnotherapist sees four clients a week?

If you are looking to get more clients, we've started a blog series that's running for the next 4 weeks.

It has simple tips on getting client's through the door.

The first post looks at the following:

Do you include your prices on your website?

Where do people find out about you before they write?

What do you send back on the day an enquiry arrives?

Who already knows you?

I love being a clinical supervisor. It is a wonderful way to support other therapists.

I draw on 27 years of experience, working with thousands of clients.

Plus, years of CPD courses, various training, and a range of my own techniques.

But that's me, it's useful, but my real aim is to help therapists draw on their own skills and training. While providing them with support for both themselves and their clients.

If you are looking for a supervisor - please DM me, or book in for a free session for an initial chat to see how we can work together:

(The meeting is set for one hour, but it can be 5 min or 50, whatever you need :)

It can be a lonely life sometimes as a therapist.

We tend to listen more than the average, ask more questions and then allow people to really talk.

Plus, we are often the 'go to' for the problems of those around us. Never mind the professional load we take on.

The above isn't so much a bad thing, we get to help and if we're lucky we might even change a few people's life's.

One thing that is useful, really useful, is to carve out your own peer support.

Perhaps it's someone from a course you went on who you instantly gelled with, or someone from a networking group etc. It doesn't matter where they are from, reach out.

Try this, ask someone if they want to meet up once a month, just for an hour (and keep to this boundary), for a coffee and a chat.

It can be in person or online.

Keep it light, it's not therapy, it's just one therapist chatting to another. Be each other's cheerleader :)

One important thing - at the end of each hour, get the appointment in your calendar for next time, and give it the importance it deserves :)

Do you have peer support?

P.S In a magical world, it only takes 4 sessions to fix the big four, in reality, it can take longer as people have other challenges, but you'd have all you need, if it was 4 sessions or 40 :)

P.P.S If you are a man with any of these issues, check out danteharker.com - I can help :)

Turns out it's super hard to show you how amazing the script generator is in HAP - but I did my very best.

Though the best, would be to go check it out at hypnoadminpro.com :)

The important thing, is that the site, can build you, section by section wonderful, personalised, client scripts.

And, unlike doing them in ChatGPT/Claude, these ones are GDPR safe :)

You set the category and describe the presenting issue. Leaving actual names out.

Hypno Admin Pro writes it section by section: induction, deepener, intervention, post-hypnotic suggestions, and awakening.

If a section is thin, lengthen it. If the wording is off, rewrite that section and leave the rest.

Client names and session notes stay out of the AI unless you put them in yourself. Your records stay in your account, and only you can see them. Built for UK practice, under UK GDPR.

More than that, you can then push the script straight through to either an easy read teleprompter, or create your own client audio - right in the site.

39-day free trial. No card.

Someone asks their favourite AI, be that ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini etc which therapist to see.

The answer comes back as a name, a town, and a reason.

This is how many people are now searching for their therapist, and I would imagine, within the next few years, the main way they find one.

Do you know what AI knows about you?

If you don't, we've added a useful tool inside Hypno Admin so you can check.

Plus, added a blog post: https://hypnoadminpro.com/blog/get-named-when-someone-asks-chatgpt-for-a-hypnotherapist

With helpful tips, and soon we'll be doing a free webinar to help you get to grips with AEO - Answer Engine Optimisation :)

I know people think that AI is all about those Terminator robots showing up at your door, but until that happens, it's key to make sure AI knows what you offer.

Allostatic load - I'm not sure anyone will actually use this word, but it's the one to use instead of 'stress'.

That word has too much power, so it's suggested that we stop using it, and help our clients do the same...

It is he wear and tear your body stacks up when life keeps asking for more than you can comfortably adapt to.

Therapists absorb other people's intensity for a living. That's part of the job. Managing it is the skill.

Ideally, you and your clients get to a point where you can clearly say - this is what I do on a daily, weekly, monthly and regular basis.

What do you do with yours? (Some suggestions, you have to find what works best for you :)

🧘 Daily: yoga, walking, 3-6 breathing

🏊 Weekly: swimming, nature, time with friends

🛁 Monthly: massage, quiet day, social media cull

✈️ Periodic: holiday, retreat day, boundary review

Not a prescription. A rhythm. Pick what fits and actually do it.

What's yours? Drop it below.

Do you get triggered, then feel that familiar feeling, often in the stomach or chest?

If humans are great at something, it’s being emotional. The challenge is that emotions are based on how we’ve chosen to label our internal chemicals.

🎢 Twins go to a theme park. Same upbringing. They look at the rollercoaster. Chemicals rise: adrenaline, dopamine, cortisol.

One twin thinks this is the most exciting thing in the history of things and can’t wait to ride. They’ve labelled those chemicals: excitement.

The other twin is convinced they’re going to get killed for sure. Same chemicals. Labelled: fear.

☕ The challenge is that these chemicals can rise through the day. For me, it’s always around 10am, when the coffee has kicked in.

🧠 Our brain, the pest, then looks for things to be anxious about, and puts those chemicals down to that.

✋ STOP.

At that moment, just label the feeling in your body. Change the subject in your head. Get on with your day.

Tight chest. Hot face. Heavy stomach.

That’s it. Label the feeling. Don’t engage with any story.

Naming calms the system.

Give it a go. See how you get on.

And if you still struggle, I’ve been dealing with this stuff, personally and as a therapist, for over 25 years. Drop me a message and I can help.
