Like many people across the country, we have followed the recent news with a deep sense of sadness and disbelief. Our thoughts are with every family affected by these distressing events.

As an independent family funeral business serving communities across Sheffield, Derbyshire and Staffordshire, we understand that the trust placed in a funeral director is unlike any other. Families come to us during some of the most difficult moments of their lives, placing the care of someone they love into our hands. We never forget the responsibility that carries.

For generations, the Jepson family has built its reputation on the values of dignity, compassion, integrity and respect. Today, those same principles guide every member of our team across our ten independent funeral homes. Every person entrusted to our care is treated as we would wish our own loved ones to be treated—with kindness, professionalism and the utmost respect.

We have always believed that transparency and accountability are essential. Families are welcome to speak with our team, visit our funeral homes and ask any questions they may have about the care we provide. We believe openness is fundamental to maintaining the confidence that families place in us.

As proud members of SAIF Independent Funeral Directors, we support high professional standards across our sector and continue to welcome appropriate regulation that strengthens public confidence and ensures consistent standards of care throughout the profession.

Tom Jepson, Managing Director of Jepson Funeral Homes

"Trust is something that can never be taken for granted. Every family who comes to us deserves complete confidence that their loved one will be cared for with dignity, compassion and respect from the moment they enter our care. That is a responsibility we take incredibly seriously, and it is one that every member of our team carries with pride every single day.”

To every family we have had the privilege of serving, to those we are supporting today, and to those who may need us in the future, thank you for the trust you place in us.

If you have any questions about the care we provide or would simply like to speak to a member of our team, our doors are always open. We are here to listen, to support and to help in whatever way we can.

In Loving Memory of
Mr Roy Grice

With the deepest sorrow and broken hearts, we announce the passing of our much-loved Roy Grice, who peacefully passed away on 21st July 2026 at Rotherham Hospital, surrounded by the love and comfort of his devoted family.
Roy was a truly kind, caring and gentle man whose warmth, humour and unwavering love touched everyone fortunate enough to know him. He was a devoted husband, a proud father, a treasured grandfather and a loyal friend. His love for his family was at the centre of everything he did, and the memories he created will be cherished forever.
Roy is now reunited with his beloved wife, Aileen Grice, the love of his life. Their love was one built on years of devotion, laughter and precious memories, and we take comfort in knowing they are together once again.
Although our hearts are filled with sadness, we are incredibly grateful for the wonderful years we shared with Roy. His gentle smile, kind words, strength, wisdom and generous heart will never be forgotten. His presence brought comfort, happiness and laughter to those around him, and his memory will continue to inspire all who knew and loved him.
Roy leaves behind a loving family who will miss him beyond words:
Daniel Grice – Son
Angelina Grice – Daughter
Hannah Grice – Daughter-in-law
A devoted and proud Grandad to:
Harry, Zane, Amaya and Brogan
His grandchildren were a constant source of pride and joy. He adored every moment spent with them and leaves them with memories of unconditional love, kindness, laughter and guidance that they will carry in their hearts for the rest of their lives.
To us, Roy was so much more than a husband, dad or grandad. He was the heart of our family, a source of strength through difficult times and someone whose love knew no limits. His gentle nature, quiet wisdom, infectious smile and caring soul made everyone feel welcome and valued. He taught us the importance of kindness, patience and putting family first, and those lessons will stay with us forever.
While it is impossible to imagine life without him, we take comfort in knowing that the love he gave us can never be taken away. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched, the memories we share and the family he loved so deeply.

Your presence, support and friendship during this difficult time will be a great comfort to our family. "Perhaps they are not stars in the sky, but rather openings where our loved ones shine down upon us to let us know they are happy."
Roy, your love was a gift, your memory a treasure.
You are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.
Though you are no longer by our side, you will forever remain in our hearts.
Rest peacefully, Roy, until we meet again.
Forever Loved.
Forever Remembered.
Forever Missed.
Forever in Our Hearts.
