Padel’s easy to pick up and hard to put down, which is part of why so many players end up with something sore.

The injuries aren’t random, though - they follow what the game asks of you. The overhead smash loads the shoulder. Constant gripping loads the elbow. And a short court with walls means longer rallies, with more of the sideways pushing and lunging that the knees and ankles take.

We’ve written up the ones we see most, what causes each, and when it’s worth getting looked at. An assessment is there to work out what’s going on, not to tell you to stop playing 👇

Inner thigh pain when you sprint, kick or change direction? It could be a groin strain.

Groin strains affect the adductor muscles along the inner thigh, which help control the hip during running, kicking and quick changes of direction. They are common in football, rugby, ice hockey and gym-based training, and groin injuries make up 2-5% of all sport-induced injuries.

Most people recover well and return to full activity. Physiotherapy guides a gradual return to loading the muscle, restoring strength and hip control.

Our article explains the symptoms, causes and treatment options, as well as what to expect during recovery.

Knee gave way during a twist, pivot or sudden stop? It could be an ACL injury.

The anterior cruciate ligament runs through the middle of the knee and helps keep it stable. These injuries are common in football, rugby, basketball and running, and often bring sudden pain, swelling within hours and a feeling of the knee giving way.

The good news is that not every ACL injury needs surgery. Some respond well to physiotherapy alone, and many people return to sport with structured rehabilitation.

Our article explains the symptoms, causes and treatment options, as well as what to expect during recovery.

We’ll be drawing the competition winners shortly and will be in touch with them directly.

Finally, thank you to our brilliant team, the Round Sheffield Run organisers, ISOBAR and, of course, every runner who made the day such a success. See you next year!

With the Round Sheffield Run just around the corner, recovery should be part of your race plan too 🏃

Earlier this year, we partnered with Isobar Compression to bring personalised compression therapy to the White House Clinic. Now, we’ve published a new article explaining the science behind compression therapy, how it works, and why it’s used by runners, athletes and healthcare professionals around the world.

From managing swelling and heavy legs to supporting recovery between training sessions, compression therapy can be a valuable tool for keeping you moving and training consistently.

If you’re taking on the ROUND Sheffield Run this month, it could be worth understanding how compression fits into your wider recovery strategy.

⭐ 500+ Google Reviews and counting!

A huge thank you to every patient who has taken the time to share their experience with the White House Clinic.

Whether you've visited us for physiotherapy, sports massage, post-operative rehabilitation, climbing injuries, running injuries or any of our other services, your feedback helps others find the care they need and helps us continue improving what we do.

We'd also like to thank our fantastic team across all 14 clinics. Their expertise, professionalism and commitment to patient care are what make reviews like these possible.

Reaching 500 reviews is a milestone we're incredibly proud of, and it's only possible because of the trust our patients place in us every day.

Thank you for your support.

Here's to the next 500! 🎉

A shoulder dislocation occurs when the upper arm bone comes out of the shoulder socket. It can cause severe pain, swelling, weakness and difficulty moving the arm normally.

These injuries are often seen in sports such as rugby and climbing, as well as after slips and falls. Without the right rehabilitation, there is an increased risk of ongoing instability and future dislocations.

The good news is that with appropriate physiotherapy and rehabilitation, many people make a successful return to sport and everyday activities.

Our article explains the symptoms, causes and treatment options for shoulder dislocation, as well as what to expect during recovery.

Last week we were at the Chesterfield 10K and what a brilliant event it was. Fantastic atmosphere, great to see so many runners out taking part and supporting some incredible causes.

A big thank you to everyone who visited the White House Clinic team on the day for sports massage, recovery advice and injury support.

We’re also pleased to say that together we raised £150, which will be split between Ashgate Hospice, Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice and Weston Park Cancer Charity. 👏

Well done to everyone who took part and thank you to the Chesterfield 10K team for having us involved.
