Onycholysis – a common condition I see in my salon .

Many people start using antifungal products hoping they will solve the problem. Unfortunately, if the nail isn’t affected by a fungal infection, these treatments won’t help—and can even make things worse.

In this case, the excessive use of unsuitable products caused the nail bed and surrounding skin to become very dry and irritated.

After a full assessment, the detached part of the nail was carefully removed, and treatment with Onygen Cream was started to support healthy nail bed recovery.

💡 Remember: not every lifted nail is caused by fungus. A proper diagnosis is the key to successful treatment. If you notice your nail lifting, don’t self-treat—book an assessment with a Foot Health Practitioner to find the real cause and receive the right treatment.

Hi, I’m Sabina! 👋

🇵🇱 I’m originally from Poland, but I’ve been living in Somerset, UK, since 2017. I’m a proud wife and a happy mum to one daughter.

💅 My journey in the nail industry started in 2015, even though I graduated as a Hotel Management Technician and spent several years working in hospitality. After moving to the UK, I continued working as a waitress while building my passion for nails in my spare time.

👣 Four years ago, I discovered foot health care, and I knew I had found my true calling. I trained as a Foot Health Practitioner, and I love helping people improve the health and comfort of their feet. Nothing makes me happier than seeing satisfied clients and the positive results of my work.

If you already know me, you know I’m talkative, friendly, and always happy to help. 😊

Follow my journey and stay tuned for more transformations, foot care tips, and treatment results! 💚

A nail injury can lead to a painful blood collection under the nail (subungual hematoma). In many cases, relieving the pressure early can help reduce throbbing pain and discomfort. Always seek advice from a foot health professional before any treatment.

Onychomycosis (fungal nail infection) often goes hand in hand with athlete’s foot (fungal skin infection of the feet). 🦶✨

Treating only the infected nail may not bring the results you expect if the fungal infection on the skin is left untreated. The infection can continue to spread and affect the healing process.

Successful treatment requires a complete approach:
✅ treating both the nails and the skin of the feet
✅ maintaining good foot hygiene
✅ being consistent with your treatment routine
✅ keeping feet dry and protected

Remember — fungal nail treatment is a long process and requires patience. Healthy nails need time to grow back, so regular care and professional guidance are key.

Don’t give up after a few weeks — consistency is what brings results. 💪✨

Nail reconstruction — when is it a good option? 🦶✨
Nail reconstruction can improve the appearance of a damaged or missing nail, but it’s important to remember: it does not treat the cause of the problem it only masks and protects the nail.

✅ Suitable for:
• nail damage or loss,
• trauma-related nail defects,
• temporary aesthetic improvement (e.g. for a special occasion).

❌ Not recommended when there is:
• active infection,
• inflammation,
• an untreated underlying nail condition.

A reconstruction is a great temporary solution — not something to wear all the time without addressing the real cause. Healthy nails always come first. 💚

A small thing can sometimes cause a big problem… 🦶
A patient came to my clinic with a concern that looked like a scratch, a possible infection, or another skin issue. After examination, we discovered the cause — a dog hair had penetrated the skin. 🐶
The hair was carefully removed and the area was disinfected.
This case is a reminder that even tiny foreign bodies can cause discomfort and inflammation, and professional assessment is always important.
