We assess how your body is working -it's muscles, joints and nerves, correcting any issues and helping with injury, so that you feel great, achieve your goals and avoid future problems. But most people acquire a few glitches as they journey through life. You may not be aware of these glitches but they have consequences: Pain, recurring aches, poor posture, “wear & tear”, are some of the hallmarks.

Our job is to find the glitches, correct them, and give you ways to stay well in the future. At Mendip Chiropractic we carry out a detailed assessment to determine how well your body (your muscles, joints and, nerves) functions as a whole. Do all your muscles coordinate well and protect your joints? Is there a deficit that leads to pain? Once we have pinpointed an issue, we correct it, often using chiropractic techniques in that first visit. This helps your body back towards its 100% amazing ability. Our lead chiropractor (Ben Gait DC) first qualified as a chiropractor in 2009 (5-year degree). Whilst in practice he continued to study and master specialist techniques including the related field of “Afferent Input Technique” (a type of functional muscle assessment). At Mendip Chiropractic we combine the two approaches, with state-of-the-art equipment, to provide individually tailored care for the community. We help all ages, with gentle techniques suitable for newborns through to care suited to elite level sports performance. Please feel free to ask us how we might help you. Post-workout, Metabolic Window 👇
For around 30–60 minutes after a tough session, your cells are primed to pull in nutrients to replenish energy stores and kick start repair.
During this marathon training block, I have found myself knocking up the following drink, as soon as I get through the door (I like to hit the window within 20 min):
🥄 tablespoon of homemade yoghurt
🍁 dash of maple syrup
💪 scoop of collagen/glycine powder (I use Evolve Collagen by InHealth)
🧂 a couple of magnesium capsules
💧 water and a pinch of decent salt
➕/- sometimes creatine
But this is just the prelude for a proper full English and scoffing whatever is in sight — especially after a 20 miler 😅🍳🥓
