🩸 Blood Cancer Awareness Month 🩸

September is Blood Cancer Awareness Month, an opportunity to raise awareness of blood cancers such as leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma.

Blood cancer can affect anyone, and some symptoms can be easy to overlook. It’s important to speak to your GP if you notice symptoms that are unusual for you or don’t go away.

Some possible signs include:

🔴 Unexplained or persistent tiredness
🔴 Unexplained weight loss
🔴 Frequent or persistent infections
🔴 Unexplained bruising or bleeding
🔴 Swollen glands or lumps
🔴 Persistent fever or night sweats
🔴 Bone or joint pain
🔴 Pale skin or breathlessness

These symptoms can have many causes and do not necessarily mean you have blood cancer, but getting persistent or unexplained symptoms checked is important.

International Overdose Awareness Day - 31st August 2026 💜

Today we remember those who have lost their lives to overdose, support those affected, and work together to reduce the stigma surrounding drug use and overdose. Overdose can affect individuals, families and communities. With the right support, information and access to treatment, lives can be saved.
As a GP surgery, we want to remind our patients that you can speak to us if you are concerned about your own drug or medication use, or worried about someone close to you. You will be treated with compassion, dignity and without judgement.

💜 You are not alone. Help is available.
