🌾 A Trip Down Memory Lane at Garden House 🌾

Today, our wonderful residents enjoyed a fantastic reminiscing session all about farming, led by the lovely Jan. 🐄🚜

From dressing up as farmers to holding shepherd’s crooks and even cuddling a very friendly cow, the activity sparked so many wonderful conversations and memories. Residents shared stories of growing up on farms, milking cows, harvesting crops and helping with the daily jobs that shaped rural life.

Reminiscence activities like these are a wonderful way to encourage conversation, laughter and connection, helping to bring cherished memories back to life while supporting wellbeing.

A huge thank you to Jan for bringing farming to Garden House and creating such a fun and meaningful afternoon for everyone. ❤️

☀️🍔 GH Summer BBQ… with a very British twist! 🌧️😂

Today we enjoyed our Garden House Summer BBQ with plenty of smiles, good food and even better company.

In true British fashion, I spent the morning watering all the plants… only for the heavens to open just in time for the BBQ! Typical! 🤦‍♀️🌧️

Thankfully, a little rain certainly didn’t dampen our spirits. There was lots of laughter, delicious food and wonderful time spent together, making more lovely memories.

After all, what’s a British summer without a BBQ… and a bit of rain? 🇬🇧❤️

✨ Old Sayings, Big Smiles! ✨

Our residents had great fun this week putting their memories to the test by matching up classic old sayings. 🧩💭

From “A stitch in time…” to ”…saves nine” and “Don’t count your chickens…” to ”…before they hatch,” there was plenty of laughter, reminiscing, and a little friendly competition along the way.

Activities like these are a wonderful way to encourage conversation, stimulate memory, and share stories from years gone by. ❤️

🌸 Flower Arranging Fun at Garden House 🌸

Creativity was in full bloom today as our residents enjoyed a wonderful flower arranging session! 💐

There were plenty of smiles, laughter, and beautiful floral displays created with care and imagination. Activities like these are a lovely way to encourage creativity, reminiscence, and social interaction while bringing a splash of colour to everyone’s day.

A huge well done to everyone who took part – your arrangements were absolutely beautiful! 🌼🌿

There’s a real buzz around Garden House this evening as our residents settle in to cheer on England! 🇬🇧⚽

With plenty of snacks, good company and lots of football chat, we’re all looking forward to an exciting evening together. Whether you’re a lifelong football fan or simply enjoying the atmosphere, it’s another lovely opportunity to make memories and share in the excitement.

🌊☀️ Jan’s Reminiscing Session – A Trip to the Seaside! ☀️🌊

Today at Garden House, Ruth led a wonderful reminiscing session all about beach holidays and swimwear from years gone by. 🏖️👒👙

Residents shared fond memories of family trips to the seaside, paddling in the sea, building sandcastles, and the swimwear they wore in their younger days – from knitted bathing costumes and swimming caps to stylish sun hats and sunglasses! 🌊🐚

There were plenty of smiles, laughter, and stories as everyone took a trip down memory lane and remembered the joys of summers by the sea. 💙

Thank you, Jan for another fantastic session that sparked so many happy memories and conversations. 🥰
