Finding Balance During Menopause 🌿

Menopause can bring a whole range of changes — from disrupted sleep and hot flushes to feeling more anxious, overwhelmed, or simply not quite yourself.

And while menopause is a natural stage of life, that doesn’t mean you have to struggle through the symptoms alone.

Reflexology can be a wonderfully calming treatment during this time, giving you space to pause, relax and reconnect with your body. Many women find it helpful for supporting relaxation, sleep and overall wellbeing when life and hormones feel a little out of balance.

I recently wrote about this in my article “Finding Balance During Menopause”, published in the August edition of the Sherborne Times, where I explore some of the challenges women can experience during menopause and ways to support yourself through this transition.

If you’re in or approaching menopause and feel you could benefit from some time for yourself, menopause reflexology may be worth exploring. 💜

Menopause isn't just about hot flushes…

Brain fog, restless nights, anxiety, feeling overwhelmed, low energy and those "why can't I remember what I was doing?" moments can all become part of the perimenopause and menopause journey.

And sometimes, what we really need is the opportunity to slow down, switch off and let our nervous system settle.

This is where reflexology can be a lovely form of support. A treatment gives you dedicated time to relax, helping to calm the nervous system and create a little space for your body and mind to reset.

I've written more about this in my article "Finding Balance During Menopause", published in this month's Sherborne Times, where I explore some of the changes women can experience during this stage of life – and how we can support our wellbeing through them.

If you're navigating perimenopause or menopause and feel like your body and mind are asking for a bit of extra care, reflexology could be worth exploring.

Finding Balance During Menopause

I’m delighted to have a new article featured in the August edition of the Sherborne Times.

Menopause is a natural stage of life, but the changes it brings can sometimes leave us feeling unlike ourselves. From disrupted sleep and hot flushes to anxiety, brain fog and changes in mood, it can affect us in many different ways.

In my article, Finding Balance During Menopause, I talk about the importance of supporting our wellbeing during this transition and how reflexology may offer a gentle opportunity to relax, restore and reconnect with yourself.

You can find my double-page article in the Body & Mind section of the digital edition, on pages 108 and 109. Link in Bio.

If you’re navigating menopause yourself — or know someone who is — I hope you’ll enjoy reading it. 💜

When was the last time you truly relaxed?

Not just sat down with a cup of tea... but actually allowed your mind and body to switch off.

For so many of us, stress has become our normal. We keep going, pushing through busy days, juggling work, family and endless to-do lists, often without realising the toll it's taking on our wellbeing.

When we're constantly in "fight or flight" mode, it can affect our sleep, mood, energy levels, digestion, hormones and overall health.

Reflexology offers you the opportunity to pause.

Many of my clients tell me they leave their appointment feeling calmer, lighter and deeply relaxed – sometimes saying it's the first time in weeks they've truly switched off. By encouraging deep relaxation, reflexology helps your body move away from that stressed state and into one where it can rest, restore and rebalance.

If you'd like a little relaxation at home, I've also created a FREE Self-Hypnosis for Deep Relaxation audio recording. Pop on some headphones, get comfortable and allow yourself 30 minutes of calm.

🎧 Listen here:

If you enjoy the recording, you'll also find a growing collection of self-hypnosis audios on my website, including recordings to support natural conception, IVF preparation and pregnancy, all designed to help you feel calmer, more positive and better supported throughout your journey.

If you're in or around Sherborne, Dorset, and you're feeling overwhelmed, exhausted or simply in need of some time for yourself, I'd love to help.

Reflexology appointments are available in my Sherborne treatment room.

✨ Because sometimes the greatest gift you can give yourself is permission to slow down.

Endometriosis can affect so much more than your monthly cycle.

Living with endometriosis can mean coping with persistent pain, heavy periods, fatigue, emotional ups and downs, and for some women, challenges with fertility. Sometimes, surgery becomes part of the journey too.

While reflexology doesn’t treat or cure endometriosis, it can offer valuable support alongside your medical care. By encouraging deep relaxation and calming the nervous system, many women find it helps them feel more comfortable, more balanced, and better able to cope with the physical and emotional impact of the condition.

It can also be a gentle way to support your wellbeing before or after surgery, giving your body and mind the opportunity to rest and recover.

If you’re living with endometriosis, remember that you don’t have to face it alone. Taking time to care for yourself isn’t a luxury – it’s an important part of your wellbeing.

A little message for anyone who's finding the journey to parenthood harder than expected...

If you've been trying to conceive for over a year, you may already be speaking to your GP, having fertility tests, or perhaps you're starting to think about a private fertility clinic.

It can be an incredibly emotional time, and it's easy to feel as though everyone else is moving forward while you're left waiting for answers.

As a reflexologist based in Sherborne, I work with women at every stage of their fertility journey. Some are hoping to conceive naturally, while others are preparing for or going through IVF.

Each reflexology session is tailored to where you are. Whether you're supporting your natural cycle or following an IVF medication protocol, treatments are adapted accordingly, with the aim of helping you feel calmer, more supported, and better able to cope with the physical and emotional demands of the journey.

While reflexology doesn't replace medical treatment, many women tell me that having regular sessions gives them something they often feel they're missing – time to switch off, feel cared for, and reconnect with themselves.

If this sounds like something that could help you, I'd be very happy to have an informal chat.

📍I'm based in Sherborne and welcome clients from across Dorset and Somerset.

Could PMOS be affecting your everyday life?

Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome (PMOS) is the new name for what was previously known as PCOS. The change reflects what many women have known for years – it's about so much more than the ovaries.

PMOS can affect your hormones, metabolism and menstrual cycle, leading to symptoms such as irregular or absent periods, fatigue, acne, unwanted hair growth, difficulty losing weight, fertility challenges and emotional wellbeing.

Living with a hormonal condition can feel exhausting, especially when your body seems to be working against you.

While reflexology doesn't treat or cure PMOS, it offers a gentle, calming therapy that supports your overall wellbeing. By helping to settle the nervous system and encouraging deep relaxation, many women find it helps them cope better with the physical and emotional demands of living with a long-term hormonal condition.

If you're looking for natural support alongside your medical care, I'd love to welcome you to my treatment room in Sherborne.

As tomorrow's Full Moon rises...

The full moon has long been a symbol of growth, nurturing and new beginnings. It reminds us that every journey has its own natural rhythm – much like pregnancy itself.

Growing a baby is one of the most incredible things your body will ever do, but it can also bring its fair share of physical and emotional challenges. Pregnancy reflexology offers a calm, supportive space where you can simply pause, relax and reconnect with yourself and your baby.

Many mums-to-be find reflexology helps to:
🌿 Reduce stress and anxiety
💛 Encourage deep relaxation and better sleep
🌿 Ease aching feet, back discomfort and swollen ankles
💛 Support your body's natural changes throughout pregnancy
🌿 Leave you feeling calmer, more balanced and better prepared for birth

Pregnancy reflexology is a gentle, non-invasive treatment designed to support your wellbeing throughout your pregnancy, giving you dedicated time to rest, recharge and enjoy some precious self-care.

As tomorrow's full moon lights up the night sky, perhaps it's also a reminder to slow down, listen to your body and give yourself the care you so richly deserve.

✨ If you're expecting and would like to experience the benefits of pregnancy reflexology in a peaceful, nurturing environment in Sherborne, I'd love to welcome you. I also have two Pregnancy Self Help Audio Recordings available on my website.

💚 To book or find out more, simply get in touch via my bio or DM me.

Because looking after you is one of the best ways to look after your little one. 🤍
