Our vintage vehicle rally raffle is available from reception. £1 a ticket, all proceeds towards the residents comfort fund. We will do the draw on the 22nd, at our rally. Come along for a fabulous morning taking a trip down memory lane, accompanied by a homemade cake and a cuppa listening to Les Robinson singing! We look forward to seeing you then!

⛪️ Residents attended our Pontesbury Baptist Church livestream church service again this morning, in our quiet/multi faith room, followed by a cuppa and biscuits. There was lots of singing along to the lovely hymns, followed by a chat. Residents then had a Sunday roast. A perfect Sunday morning!

🌻We have been outside checking on our plants and bird tables today. Unfortunately the pesky peacocks have been eating some of the begonias, the broccoli, and tomatoes, but the sunflowers are doing well! Hopefully once the build is complete we can get our greenhouse up so the peacocks can't get to anything.🌻 We gave everything we could a good water as it is so dry!

🌟After the lively excitement of yesterdays entertainment, today our residents enjoyed a wonderful, chilled hand massage from Angie. We talk about 'golden moments' with our residents, and these photos show perfectly exactly what they mean. Along with the physical benefits from massage of relieving pain, joint stiffness, and helping with sleep, the sensory and emotional benefits from physical touch are huge. Eye contact, smiles, and chatter from these one to one sessions are invaluable. Thank you Angie, we look forward to seeing you very soon!🌟

🎶An absolutely fantastic afternoon was spent today singing along to the fabulous Tom Byrne Music! The atmosphere was electric with singing, clapping and dancing all round! A huge thank you to our resident's friends and relatives who joined in with the fun, you were great sports! We always encourage you to come and join us for any of the activities we do - the more the merrier! We also congratulated one of our residents on their 60th wedding anniversary, and card from the King and Queen, and sung Happy Birthday to one of our lovely young gentlemen!!

🍰We had a lovely visit from The Uplands residents and staff at Hillcrest this morning, who joined us for a cuppa, cake and natter. There was singing, dancing, and lots of cake eaten! Thank you so much for coming everyone, and we look forward to seeing you again very soon! This afternoon we had a chilled game of Connect 4, completed jigsaws, and enjoyed a cold ice lolly. ☕️🧁

Don't forget we have our Vintage Vehicle Rally on Saturday 22nd August, 11am-1pm. With live music from Les Robinson, homemade cakes and refreshments and a raffle (tickets available now from reception or on the day £1 a ticket) it's a great family morning out! 🏖️It is the 1st August - how did that happen??! Here is our August calendar, hopefully with something for everyone. Paper copies are available on reception- please feel free to take one for yourselves, or to share with your loved one. There is also one on our noticeboard by the nurses station. You are always welcome to any of our activities and we are always open to new ideas, or for anyone to come in and volunteer with us!

🧶We had a lovely knit, weave and natter session this afternoon in the lounge. We had some hand knitting going on, along with machine knitting more premature baby hats, whilst some ladies tried their hands at weaving. A very productive session, and we were really pleased with the results!🧶Join us tomorrow at 2pm when we have the marvellous 'The Triggalows' singing in Reabrook lounge 🎶
