We held our Farmers Circle today with the lovely Jo from Shropshire Rural Support . Today we talked and tasted all things cheese and we also scored all 7 cheese we tried today. Highest scoring cheese was from Davidstow in Cornwall (don't tell Shropshire Cheesemakers) even beating a lovely Shropshire Blue (much to Marisa's disgust as it's her favourite cheese).

We also made plans for the summer which include a visit to the cattle market and making corn dollies at Harvest time.

Preparations are under way, the weather forecast is a little shady for Sunday but we are still very much looking forward to our summer party!

There is a tombola, a homemade goods stall (rumour has it Marisa is donating a bottle of her damson gin), a flower arranging competition, tea and cake and a pretty amazing raffle!

We have Morris dancers at 2.15pm and live entertainment with the lovely Helen Pearson at 3pm.

It's our Summer Party on Sunday! We hope the weather gods look favourably this weekend.

Raffle hampers are filling up nicely. If you would like to donate to our raffle, we are looking for anything you could use at a BBQ or a garden party. 🍹🍸🌭🌯🌽🍅🍉🍊

It's World Bee Day today (say it out loud and you will be able to imagine the conversations were had with residents this morning 😃😉)

We celebrated by painting some pebbles for the garden and trying out honey based snacks provided by our lovely Rosilene. Rosi made pancakes with a little honey drizzle (all gone), waffles with cream cheese, avocado and honey (delicious)and mini poppadoms with avocado, honey and lime (divine).

When Marisa topped up the bird feeders around the home today she recorded our morning chorus with her Bird recognition app and look how many different species we have here at River! She also spotted a Robin and 2 Partridges.
Our residents love spotting all the wildlife, especially on the east wing (Cyril Squirrel who does daily rounds to pinch seeds from the feeders is a bit of a celebrity round here).

We go through 20kg of bird seed every month. If you have any spare or leftover, we would very much appreciate it. ❤️🐓🐔🐤🐥🐦🐧🕊️🦃🦅🦆🦉🦚🦜🦢🪶🪽🪿🐦‍⬛
