Active Charnwood Family Activity Roadshows are Back! ☀️🏃‍♀️

We're excited to be bringing a range of FREE family activities to communities across Charnwood during the summer holidays!

Join Active Charnwood and our partners at the following locations:
📍 Thurmaston – Elizabeth Park
📍 Shepshed – Glenmore Park
📍 Sileby – Memorial Park
📍 Mountsorrel – Playing Fields
📍 Loughborough – Southfields Park

🕛 All events run from 12:00pm – 3:00pm

Expect a fantastic range of fun, inclusive activities, games and information stands from Active Charnwood and partners including:

✅ Vita Minds

🍪 Refreshments and snacks will also be available from Olivia's Bakery.

Thank you: a massive thank you to all of you who attended our event on Saturday. Dr Lakhani led the event focussing on Know your Numbers, Age Well and Be a Smart Patient. We were supported by so many NHS partners including: Diabetes Specialist Nurse Nicole, Saman and Anu from Sileby Pharmacy, Active Charnwood, Sarah our Mental Health Neighbourhood Lead for Charnwood, Liz a menopause coach, Robert representing Epilepsy Uk and Rachel from Parkinson’s Team talking about Parkinson’s disease and local support groups available. We also had a patient story. A massive thank you to our PPG Chair Alison and members of our PPG along with members of our practice team Hayley and Lisa for their invaluable contribution in setting up this event. A special mention to Danielle from The Daisy
Chain for the lovely donation of a flower arrangement for our raffle.

Become a Walk Leader with Active Charnwood 🚶‍♂️

Active Charnwood's next Walk Leader Training session is taking place on Wednesday 1st July in Loughborough.

Delivered in partnership with Walk Together, this free training is designed for anyone interested in helping to lead safe, welcoming and accessible community walks.

The session covers:
✅ Roles and responsibilities of a walk leader
✅ Leading safe and inclusive walks
✅ Supporting walkers in your community
✅ Practical guidance and group discussions

Interested in volunteering in your local community and helping others get active? We'd love to hear from you!

If you're unable to make the July date, we have a further training opportunity planned for October in Thurmaston.

This week it's Volunteers' Week. We are grateful every week for our amazing team of volunteers, but this week we wanted to say a special huge THANK YOU!!
We couldn't run our groups and activities without you wonderful people.
