πŸ’œ Week 5 - Gentle Moves & Graduation Day

πŸ’™ We started with our final weekly check in of the course, it's been lovely getting to know everyone over the last 5 weeks.

πŸ’œ We did the baby's footprints on their certificates as a keepsake of their experience.

πŸ’™ We did the Gentle Movements together, these are gentle yoga type exercises that are adapted for babies and an introduction to what they can follow on to do in my new Baby Yoga sessions.

πŸ’œ We then began the full body massage routine, which we had learnt in the previous weeks, starting with the feet, tummy, chest, arms, face and finishing with the back.

πŸ’™ After we had a break with a cuppa β˜•and a cake 🍰 we looked at different adaptations for when our babies have started to move and for older children, just because we have little wrigglers, doesn't mean that we have to stop massaging, we just adapt it for our growing children.

πŸ’œ I read and demonstrated the Weather Massage as an introduction to Story Massage β›…οΈπŸŒˆβ˜”οΈπŸŒ¦πŸŒͺ❄️

πŸ’™ We have covered so much information in the last 5 weeks, it's not just about the massage routine, there is so much more to this course. If you would like to join the next course starting on Tuesday 2nd June, DM me for further information.

πŸ’œ BABY YOGA & GENTLE MOVEMENTS πŸ’œ

πŸ’™ 5 Week block of Birthlight Baby Yoga and Gentle Movements.

πŸ’œ Baby yoga combines dry massage, gentle movements, and stretches for your little one, creating a calming and soothing routine.

πŸ’™ The sessions not only integrate calming stretches for your little one, but also offer gentle stretches for you. This creates an opportunity for both of you to explore movement together, promoting a shared sense of relaxation and bonding.

πŸ’œ Baby Yoga can:

πŸ’«Support your baby's physical and mental development
πŸ’«Stimulate the vestibular and proprioceptive systems
πŸ’«Improve flexibility and strength
πŸ’«Enhance motor skills and coordination.
πŸ’«Strengthen the bond between parent and baby

πŸ’œ Week 4 - Face and Back

πŸ’™ We started with our weekly check in and shared a new thing that the babies had done this week, some are trying to roll, some are discovering their feet belong to them, some are beginning to smile, it's such a joy to share these milestones.

πŸ’œ We continued with learning the new massage strokes, this week it was the face and the back and then we repeated the strokes for the legs, tummy, chest and arms. I also demonstrated some different adaptations for if the babies want to be in a different position to lying down.

πŸ’™ After a short break, giving us the opportunity for a chat, cup of tea/coffee β˜• and cake 🍰 we recapped the new massage strokes and looked at the benefits of massage, the benefits for babies come under the categories, stimulation, interaction, relief and relaxation, there are also benefits for us as parents, our family, society and the IAIM programme.

πŸ’œ This was the penultimate week of the 5 week course, we have covered so much and still have more to cover in our final week.

πŸ’™ If you would like further information on how to join the next course starting Tuesday 2nd June, please get in touch, there is limited availability.

πŸ’œ Exciting News πŸ’«πŸŽ‰πŸ“£πŸ’œ

πŸ’™ It's been a strange couple years and at times quite challenging. I started something that I thought would be a good distraction from grief, but soon realised that it wasn't what my mind needed at that time, it was peace and calm.

πŸ’œ At the end of last year I picked it back up and pleased that I have now qualified and joined Birthlight to become a Baby Yoga Instructor. This is something that I have wanted to do for a really long time to compliment Baby Massage with International Association of Infant Massage IAIM, Story Massage Programme and Massage in Schools Association EWNI.

πŸ’™ Before starting my training, I did a lot of research to find an organisation which shared the same ethos and values as me and the organisations which I have already trained with, Birthlight seemed to fit perfectly with room to progress and grow further.

πŸ’œ I've been supported along the way by my family but also some special people that have helped with my training Kate Idle Pilates for letting me observe her classes, Jade Sills and Kieran Litherland for being my guinea pigs for teaching and Frelsi Mindset and Marketing for being my mentor for feedback and evaluations, I couldn't have done it without you all and I am forever grateful.

πŸ’™ I am really excited to get started and will be offering sessions from next month so look out for further details.

πŸ’™ Week 3 - Chest and Arms

πŸ’œ What a fabulous session with a dad, a nanna and an aunt joining us. We started with our weekly check in, sharing the highs and lows of the last week, and then we shared the best thing about being a parent, this gave us the opportunity to take a step back and think about those special moments.

πŸ’™ We learnt the massage strokes for the chest and arms and then re-capped the massage strokes for the tummy and legs from the previous weeks.

πŸ’œ After a short break with a cuppa β˜•and a cookie cake bought in by a lovely participant 🍰 I recapped the new massage strokes again and then went through engagement and disengagement cues, these are the signs our babies show us whether they are ready to join in with a massage or not, we read and respect these cues, if our baby's are not ready the mums tend to their needs.

πŸ’™ I also discussed newborn reflexes and talked more about the physical and emotional reasons our babies cry and how it makes us feel.

πŸ’œ We closed with the daily affirmation for newborns. Relaxed mums and cosy relaxed babies.

πŸ’™ My next course starts on Tuesday 2nd June from 10am - 11.30am, if you would like further information or to book as space, please feel free to get in touch [email protected]
