My Therapy Room

A space where you can simply be yourself.

One of the things clients often tell me is how calm they feel when they arrive.
That has always been important to me.

I wanted to create somewhere that feels welcoming...
comfortable...
safe...
and free from judgement.

Whether you're talking about anxiety, grief, trauma or simply feeling overwhelmed, my aim is for you to feel heard, understood and accepted exactly as you are.
Because healing begins where we feel safe.

Trauma Lives in the Body

Have you ever wondered why your body reacts before your mind does?

Perhaps your heart races...
your stomach tightens...
your shoulders tense...
even when you're safe.

Trauma and anxiety don't only affect our thoughts.
They can also leave the nervous system constantly prepared for danger.

Healing is about helping your mind and body realise that the threat has passed.
With patience, compassion and the right support, your nervous system can learn to feel safe again.

Childhood Trauma

Sometimes the child we once were still needs compassion.

Our early experiences can quietly shape the way we see ourselves and the world around us.

Perhaps you struggle to:
• trust people
• believe you're good enough
• relax
• set healthy boundaries
• accept kindness from others

These patterns aren't signs of weakness.
Often they're the mind's way of protecting us after difficult experiences.
Healing isn't about blaming the past.
It's about understanding it, so it no longer controls your future.

The 5-4-3-2-1 Grounding Technique

When your mind feels like it's racing, bring yourself back to the present.
Anxiety has a way of pulling us into the "what ifs" of tomorrow or replaying the worries of yesterday.

A simple grounding exercise can gently reconnect you with the here and now.
Take a slow breath and notice:

👀 5 things you can see
✋ 4 things you can touch
👂 3 things you can hear
👃 2 things you can smell
👅 1 thing you can taste

There is no rush. Simply notice.

Grounding techniques won't make life's problems disappear, but they can help calm your nervous system enough to face them one step at a time.

Have you heard of EFT (Tapping)?
Many people haven't...

Yet it has become one of my favourite techniques to teach.

By gently tapping on specific acupressure points while focusing on difficult emotions, EFT helps calm the nervous system and reduce emotional intensity.
Clients often tell me they feel:
✨ calmer
✨ lighter
✨ less overwhelmed

It's simple.
It's gentle.

And it's something you can continue using long after therapy.
Sometimes healing begins with the smallest actions.

Box Breathing

Feeling overwhelmed right now?
Let's pause together.

Try this simple breathing exercise.
Breathe in...
1...
2...
3...
4...
Hold...
1...
2...
3...
4...
Breathe out...
1...
2...
3...
4...
Hold...
1...
2...
3...
4...
Repeat four times.

Sometimes we can't immediately change what's happening around us.
But we can gently help our nervous system realise we're safe.
Small moments of calm really do make a difference.

Grief changes us.

Not because we stop loving the person we've lost.
But because we slowly learn how to carry that love differently.
There isn't a finish line.

There isn't a day when grief suddenly disappears.
Instead...
Life slowly begins to grow around the grief.
Some days will feel lighter.
Some days won't.
Both are completely normal.
Be patient with yourself.
Healing doesn't mean forgetting.
It means allowing yourself to keep living while continuing to love.
💙

Some days remind me just how privileged I am to do the work I love.

Today, as our sessions came to an end, a client surprised me with the most beautiful flowers and a heartfelt card.

I never expect gifts, and they are never necessary, but this thoughtful gesture truly touched me.

It's such a privilege to walk alongside people through their journeys.

Feeling incredibly grateful for the trust, kindness, and connection that this work brings.
Thank you. ❤️
