Almost everyone I see here at the hut comes via word of mouth. This is partly because I’ve worked in the area for a looong time and partly because I haven’t even gotten around to sorting out a website yet 🫣

But to hear from a local midwife that she has heard good things was a real boost, midwives can’t recommend private services as we aren’t part of the NHS, but it’s nice to hear that she has heard positive feedback. On top of a couple of SUPER cute babies today this was a really lovely thing for me to see.

🌼 Summer availability update 🌼

Hello! Just a few weeks left before the school summer holidays, where my online diary will close.

I WILL still be available for appointments but these will have to be booked directly with me via WhatsApp on 07427535453 as my availability will change depending on what our family plans are that week.

As always it’s been a pleasure to see so many beautiful babies and parents, and working in a cabin in the sunshine is a real treat 🌞

Just finished my first day as a Voluntary Breastfeeding Peer Supporter at Aberdeen Maternity Hospital!

I’m feeling very grateful to be able to give my time to this.
It’ll be a steep learning curve for sure, but oh my word getting to be around teeny tiny newborns is so wonderful. I met some really amazing new mums today and the incredible Infant Feeding Team who were all so generous with their time. Looking forward to my next shift already!

Sorry! Not at the moment. It doesn’t mean I don’t love you! I just love babies more 🤭

I’m sure once my children are older I’ll be gladly accepting adult new patients. But for now I’m happy with my little ones and helping new and growing families navigate parent life!

Disclaimer- you will hear me say this ALOT! So I decided to make it my very first “top tip”.

Life with a new baby can have us questioning all sorts of things. But we don’t need to lose any sleep (well more than you’re probably losing at the moment anyway!) whilst suffering the anxiety of wondering “is this normal?”

If you are suffering, reach out to your health visitor or midwife as soon as possible. If that doesn’t help and it’s a feeding concern then the local infant feeding team should be on hand for you to speak to or see in person.

However, if those actions haven’t made you feel any better, then I would be willing to bet there is still something going on!

If your baby seems fussy/uncomfortable/miserable then keep asking for help! There are many things that can contribute to a baby being unhappy, and almost all of them are figureoutable ❤️

If you feel you’d like someone else to hear your concerns about your baby, I’m all ears!

👶✨ What is infant bodywork? ✨👶

I spent the last 18 years working as a chiropractor, specialising in paediatrics, so I’ve had the privilege of working with hundreds of babies – and I promise, it’s nothing like you’d normally expect from a chiropractor. This is part of the reason why I feel “infant bodywork” is a much better term!

Baby bodywork is so light and gentle. We call it “eyeball pressure” – just the light touch you’d feel pressing on your closed eye. Most little ones love it and drift into calm… sometimes the parents do too (a dad recently fell asleep on my armchair while I was working on his son in the hut! 😴).

The aim? To ease away the tiny tension patterns so babies can be more relaxed, comfortable, and happy 💛

It just so happens I have a special interest in breastfeeding, so bodywork combined with targeted lactation support is (in my opinion!) the secret sauce to a happy breastfeeding experience for you and baby!

Gentle. Safe. Effective. And often a huge relief for the whole family. 🌼
