Every community has organisations that quietly make an extraordinary difference, and the Stephen Jaffray Memorial Fund in the Falkland Islands is one of them.
This year, Dedicare UK is honoured to support this remarkable Falkland Islands charity, which was founded in memory of Stephen Jaffray following his passing in 1992. During Stephen's illness, he and his family experienced first-hand the financial and emotional challenges that come with travelling overseas for specialist medical treatment. The compassion shown by friends, local businesses and the wider community inspired Stephen's wish that others should receive the same support when facing similar circumstances.
For more than three decades, the Stephen Jaffray Memorial Fund has helped families who are unexpectedly faced with the cost of travelling to be with a seriously ill loved one, ensuring that financial barriers don't prevent people from being together during life's most difficult moments.
