What a wonderful afternoon celebrating Wimbledon in our beautiful, spacious garden! 💜💚🎾

Residents and guests came together to watch the men’s semi-final while enjoying delicious strawberries & cream, freshly baked scones with clotted cream and jam, all served with a refreshing Pimm’s or a glass of Prosecco 🍓🍹🥂

Then at 3pm, we were delighted to welcome the very talented Andante, who entertained everyone with their wonderful musical instruments and a fantastic selection of singalong favourites 🎶

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make it yet another successful themed event.

We can’t wait for the next one! ❤️

This week’s minibus adventures have included visits to Knowle Traditional Sweet Shop and Newlands Bishop’s Farm in Catherine-de-Barnes 🚌✨

Our trip to the sweet shop was a real favourite, with residents enjoying seeing the traditional sweets they remember from years gone by — bringing back wonderful memories of treats they enjoyed themselves or bought for their grandchildren 🍬❤️

At the farm, residents enjoyed a relaxing stop at Berry’s Café for a cup of tea, followed by a chance to see the animals enjoying the sunshine 🐑☀️

Our minibus trips run twice daily, three times a week, giving residents regular opportunities to get out and about, enjoy new experiences, revisit familiar places, and spend quality time socialising with others 🚐

These trips help support wellbeing by encouraging independence, creating opportunities for conversation and connection, boosting mood, and bringing a real sense of enjoyment and community to everyday life ❤️

Today we celebrated Pride Month with a fabulous performance from Aunty Ginger 🎤🎶🌈

It was an afternoon full of music, comedy, colour, laughter and plenty of fun! Our residents and team members had a wonderful time enjoying the incredible energy and entertainment, and there were lots of laughs along the way.

Marking Pride Month in our care home is so important because everyone deserves to feel seen, respected, valued and included. Celebrating Pride helps us recognise the lives, stories and experiences of LGBTQ+ people, including older generations who may have faced barriers or discrimination in their lifetime. It creates a welcoming environment where everyone can be themselves and reminds us that love, diversity and acceptance should always be celebrated 🌈

A huge thank you to Aunty Ginger for bringing so much joy and sparkle to our home, especially in the sweltering heat!

We truly appreciated the fabulous performance and the smiles you brought to everyone’s faces 💕🎤🌈

⚽️ ❤️What an incredible day! ⚽️❤️

Our theme was Goal-Den Moments… and we certainly created some golden memories today! 🌟

We enjoyed a beautiful sunny afternoon celebrating all things football, with a fabulous BBQ prepared by Head Chef Adrien, DJ Ian keeping everyone entertained with the best party classics and football anthems, plus penalty shoot-outs, seated football and plenty of laughter along the way 🍔☀️🎶

A huge thank you to all our amazing team members who helped make today such a success. You created a fantastic atmosphere while supporting our residents to enjoy a truly memorable afternoon — thank you ❤️

We’d also like to thank all the visitors and family members who joined us. We hope you enjoyed the celebrations as much as we did 🥳

Every day after lunch, we offer a “Walk & Talk” activity for residents who enjoy getting out into the fresh air, taking some gentle exercise, and having a good chat with friends 🌤️🚶‍♂️

Today’s Walk & Talk included a fun World Cup Flags mini quiz, where we tested our knowledge by guessing the countries represented by the flags now decorating our garden ahead of our big World Cup Party on Friday! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🇺🇸

Along the way, we stopped to watch the birds enjoying their feeding stations, admired our beautiful chestnut treewith its abundance of growing conkers, and, of course, had a good old natter about tonight’s football fixtures while trying to predict the scores 🐦🌳⚽️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

We had so much fun and can’t wait to see what tomorrow’s Walk & Talk brings!

This week, Blossomfield Grange came together to celebrate Eid al-Fitr with a special party. Team members brought in traditional foods and wore traditional attire, helping to create a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere throughout the day 🎉

It was wonderful to see staff and residents come together to mark this special occasion, celebrating the diversity within our home and sharing in the joy of Eid 🌙✨

The afternoon provided a fantastic opportunity for everyone to learn about different cultures, enjoy delicious food, and strengthen our sense of community.

A heartfelt thank you to all the team members who contributed so generously and helped make the celebration such a success ❤️

Yesterday, our residents marked D-Day with a wonderful afternoon of music and remembrance. D-Day, which took place on 6th June 1944, was the largest seaborne invasion in history and a pivotal moment in the Second World War. It marked the beginning of the liberation of Western Europe and serves as a reminder of the courage, sacrifice, and determination shown by so many ❤️

Our residents enjoyed a fantastic performance from The Boogaloo Babes, who entertained everyone with a selection of much-loved wartime classics. The music brought back treasured memories, sparked conversation, and created a lovely atmosphere of reflection and celebration.

A heartfelt thank you to The Boogaloo Babes for helping us honour this important day in such a special way ❤️🎵
