A funeral invitation can be personal and meaningful.

You may wish to include a favourite photo, a short tribute, the service details, whether the service is private or public, and how guests can RSVP if necessary.

Some families choose a printed card, while others prefer an email, social media post or online tribute page. What matters most is that the invitation reflects the person being remembered and gives people the information they need with care.

It can be hard to know where to start when writing a funeral invitation, but it does not need to be complicated.

A simple invitation might include the person’s name, the date, time and location of the service, details of a wake if there is one, and any wishes around flowers, donations or dress.

Gentle wording such as “to celebrate the life of”, “in loving memory of” or “we respectfully invite you” can help the message feel warm, clear and heartfelt.
