A week full of music, laughter, and community at Halcyon House ☕

It has been a wonderful week for our residents. We started the week with a visit to the Lighthouse Church, where we enjoyed the beautiful sounds of ‘Folk Routes’ the perfect accompaniment to a spot of tea and cake.

On Saturday, we headed over to the United Reform Church to catch a fantastic performance of ‘Waiting for Mr G’ by the Harry Whitehouse Players. We were treated to a delightful afternoon of theatre, followed by some wonderful poetry and songs.

Seeing our residents smile, laugh, and sing along is what it’s all about — not to mention the joy of reuniting with old friends, neighbours, and familiar faces from church.

A huge thank you to the Harry Whitehouse Players for such an entertaining performance, and to all the family members and staff who joined in the fun.

We’re searching for a Wellbeing Assistant (19 hrs/week, covering 9am– 6pm including every 3rd weekend) and a Bank Wellbeing Assistant (zero hours) to join our team at Birch Grove Road (RH17 7BS).

As a Wellbeing Assistant, you’ll help keep our residents, colleagues, and site safe, while acting as a reassuring first point of contact in emergencies.

💼 Pay rate: From £13.61 p/h

Happy 101st Katy! 🥳🥂

We recently had the joy of celebrating a milestone occasion at Abbeyfield House Bramhall — resident Katy’s 101st birthday.

Katy kicked off her special day with a lovely afternoon tea lunch in the garden surrounded by her family, complete with a celebratory bottle of fizz.

The celebrations continued with our church service and a birthday sing-along, followed by a live performance from vocalist, Samantha Jones.

Katy and all of our residents had a great day celebrating. Happy 101st birthday, Katy! 💛

A huge thank you to the team from the OCU Group for stopping by Downing House this week ☕️🍰

We were so touched to receive a wonderful afternoon tea for all our residents. The OCU Group wanted to say a special thank you for everyone’s patience during their recent work in the local area.

It was such a lovely gesture, and our residents absolutely loved the treats and the company! It’s great to see such community spirit, and we really appreciate them taking the time to make our day special.

We’ve had plenty of reasons to celebrate at Abbeyfield House in Weston-super-Mare lately 🥳🎂

The past couple of weeks we marked two special birthdays. A huge happy birthday to our lovely resident, Polly! She enjoyed a beautiful garden party with her family, friends, and fellow residents.

We also had the pleasure of celebrating a birthday for our newest resident, John! John has only been with us for a short time, so it was extra special to be able to give him such a warm welcome to Abbeyfield House.

What an incredible day at The Firs! 🥂✨

We are buzzing from our 70th Garden Party this past Saturday. It was a complete sell-out, and everyone had such a fantastic time soaking up the atmosphere. Let’s just say there were a few bottles of Pimm's enjoyed — three of them, to be exact!

A massive thank you to our hardworking team, who pulled out all the stops to create such a wonderful day for everyone who attended. It was an unforgettable celebration. Abbey made plenty of new friends showing off her very stylish party hat.

Thank you to everyone who came along and made it so special. Here’s to many more wonderful memories together.

Last week at Hampton House, we continued our 70th Anniversary celebrations with a fantastic summer BBQ!🎉

Our kitchen team prepared a delicious spread of BBQ favourites, which our residents enjoyed outside in the sunshine. 🌭🍔

We were then treated to a brilliant performance from Gemma Nelson, who had everyone enjoying a great mix of country and reggae music. 🎶💃

And to finish off the afternoon, an ice cream van arrived – the perfect end to a fantastic celebration🍦😋

Soaking up every last drop of the summer sunshine ☀️

Our residents at Hope Bank View have been making the most of the weather this week, spending some wonderful time safely relaxing and enjoying the outdoors together in the garden.

As we enjoy this beautiful warm weather, we want to remind everyone to stay safe. Whether you’re out in the garden or relaxing at home, please remember to keep hydrated, seek shade during the hottest parts of the day, and use plenty of suncream.
