There’s nothing quite like an intergenerational fishing trip 🎣

We’ve had so much fun at Sandwood Seedlings last week with an exciting ocean-themed session.

The children loved catching fish from our water tank using their wind-up fishing rods, while our residents showed off their skills with the magnetic fishing game.

To top it all off, the little ones practiced their matching skills by fitting sea creatures into their correct puzzle shapes.

Downing House 🤝 Chase & Status

Ok ok… it’s not THE Chase & Status, but definitely the next best thing!

We had some surprise visitors at Downing House recently from Zoo Lab UK Our residents were absolutely delighted to meet a variety of creatures, but "Chase" and "Status" — the two adorable mongolian gerbils who popped out of a coconut — definitely stole the show! 😂

We’ve also been soaking up the sunshine and making the most of the beautiful weather by getting out into the garden for some friendly competition, including a very intense game of giant Jenga.

It’s been a week full of laughter and joy. We can't wait for more 🧡

Happy 99th birthday, Barbara! 🥳🎂

On August 7th, we had the absolute pleasure of celebrating a very special milestone at Woodlands in Skipton. Our wonderful resident, Barbara, turned 99 years old.

To mark the occasion, we celebrated with delicious cakes from Betty's and a toast of prosecco.

The highlight of the day was having Barbara’s great-grandson there in high spirits, helping her blow out her candles and hand out cake to all of our residents 💙

Join us at Privett Farm House on Thursday 20 August, 2pm–4pm, for a fun-filled Community Dog Show as we continue celebrating Abbeyfield's 70th Anniversary! 🎉

Bring your four-legged friend along to take part in our friendly competition, with classes including:

There'll also be a fun agility course for dogs to enjoy, plus plenty of delicious homemade cakes and refreshments for everyone.

If there is one thing our homes know how to do, it is pull out all the stops for a great celebration!🎉

To mark International Friendship Day, our residents, staff, and local communities came together for a wonderful day. We stamped passports during global-themed morning events, shared traditional afternoon tea with neighbouring homes and got creative with custom craft sessions.

What a wonderful Summer Fayre we had at Esk Moors Lodge and Bradbury Centre 🎉

Our residents worked hard to create and run a fantastic selection of stalls. From guessing the name of the teddy and how many sweets were in the jar, to the cake stall, pick a duck, welly wanging, tombola and raffle – there was a great variety of activities! 🧸🍰🎯

Everyone also enjoyed delicious hot dogs, plenty of tasty cakes, there was lots of smiles and laughter throughout the day.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make our Summer Fayre such a success.💛
