FBC/ESR/Biochemistry Profile/HDL/LDL/FT4/TSH/CA 125/HbA1c
Why is this blood panel useful?
🩸 As we get older, the risk of developing conditions such as diabetes, thyroid disorders, high cholesterol, kidney disease, liver disease, anaemia, and certain gynaecological conditions increases. Many of these develop gradually and may not cause obvious symptoms in their early stages.
This profile includes:
✔ Full Blood Count (FBC) – Checks for anaemia, infection, inflammation, and blood disorders.
✔ Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate (ESR) – A general marker of inflammation that may indicate infection, autoimmune disease, or other inflammatory conditions.
✔ Biochemistry Profile – Assesses kidney function, liver function, electrolytes, and other important markers of overall health.
✔ HDL & LDL Cholesterol – Measures your “good” and “bad” cholesterol to help assess your risk of cardiovascular disease and stroke.
✔ Thyroid Function (FT4 & TSH) – Detects underactive or overactive thyroid disease, which can cause fatigue, weight changes, mood changes, palpitations, and altered energy levels.
✔ CA125 – A protein that may be raised in some women with ovarian cancer. It can also be elevated in many benign conditions such as fibroids, endometriosis, ovarian cysts and during menstruation, so it is not a screening test for ovarian cancer but may support further assessment when appropriate.
✔ HbA1c – Measures your average blood sugar over the previous 2–3 months to screen for pre-diabetes and type 2 diabetes.
Whether you’re experiencing fatigue, approaching menopause, have a family history of illness, or simply want reassurance, this blood profile is an excellent way to take a proactive approach to your health.
