🌿 What a busy day!!! 🌿
This morning our residents came together for our Residents’ Meeting, an important part of life within our home, giving everyone the opportunity to share any concerns, suggestions, or simply let us know what is working well for them. ❤️
These meetings are so valuable because they give our residents a voice and help us make sure their feelings, wishes and ideas are listened to. We can then create our “You Said, We Did” board to show our residents that their voices really do make a difference. 🗣️💕
During the morning, one of our lovely ladies asked if I could help her sort through her clothes, putting away her summer tops and bringing out her winter jumpers now that the weather is getting cooler. 🧥🍂
Sometimes it really is the simplest things that can mean the most. She said:
“Thank you so much for what you’ve done for me, it’s been really bothering me for days.” ❤️
It was a lovely reminder that person-centred care isn’t always about the big things, sometimes it’s simply noticing something that is important to someone and taking the time to help. 🥰
Something else discussed during our meeting was that a couple of our ladies would love to become more involved in the cleaning and upkeep of our home and gardens. 🌸🪴
So, we headed straight out into the garden and got stuck in, helping to tidy up our new patio area! 💪🌿

What a lovely, positive and productive day we’ve had. Seeing our residents involved, listened to and taking pride in their home is exactly what meaningful engagement is all about. ❤️🏡
