Out for a pub lunch.....

Our lovely residents at Normanton Lodge love a trip out to one of their locals. This week it was the turn of The Snipe at Sutton in Ashfield to provide the food and drink. Everyone really enjoyed socialising and spending time with company. The pub did us proud and the food and beverages were great. Here's to the next pub lunch!

Sing along at Normanton

We all have different tastes and nowhere is that more true than when it comes to what music we like. So to ensure that everyone could sing along to their own favourite music at the same time....we handed out lots of headphones. It was great to see everyone enjoying themselves and joining in with their favourite tunes and songs. Only trouble was it didn't necessarily blend too well unless you had headphones on! A great idea that everyone enjoyed.

🌱🌼 Our Very First Gardening Club at Edward House! 🌼🌱

What a fantastic start to our very first Gardening Club! 🌿 Our lovely residents thoroughly enjoyed getting their hands dirty as they planted, potted, and worked together to brighten up our outdoor spaces.

It was wonderful to see so many smiles, laughter, and teamwork as everyone embraced the joys of gardening. Spending time outdoors, connecting with nature, and creating something beautiful is not only rewarding but also great for wellbeing.

A huge thank you to everyone who took part, especially Jackie West at Key Craft - we can't wait to watch our garden grow over the coming weeks! 🌸🌻

Jewellery Quarter......

That's what Willow Tree House became today, as residents and staff got to work creating some lovely jewellery. The perfect activity to encourage engagement and concentration, and to keep fine motor skills working, it was enjoyed by everyone. There were some very creative minds at work and some lovely end results!

A lovely trip out!

Our lovely St Peter's resident, Margaret, had a lovely walk to Rushcliffe Country Park today. The park is one of the best in the country, and won its first Green Flag Award in 2007 and has continued this success every year since. This is a sure sign that the park is well-maintained and well-managed, with excellent facilities, and is certainly a lovely place for a trip out, as Margaret would agree. The lake in the sunshine looked lovely, and it was the perfect place to sit and bask in the warm weather.

We encourage all our residents to take trips out as often as possible, and as a Ruddington home, we are blessed with some great local choices.

Here at Edward House, our first Knit & Natter group was a wonderful success! ✨🧶
It was lovely to see our residents come together for an afternoon of knitting, chatting, laughter, and making new friendships. Whether they were experienced knitters or just enjoying the company, everyone had a fantastic time.

Saturday Morning Brunch Club! 🥐☕💛

Our lovely residents here at Edward House had a wonderful time enjoying our very first Brunch Club last Saturday.

There was plenty of laughter, great conversation, and delicious food shared together, making for a fantastic start to the weekend. It was so lovely to see everyone relaxing, socialising, and creating special memories.
Due to the success of our first gathering, we're delighted to announce that our Saturday Morning Brunch Club will now take place once a month! We can't wait to welcome everyone back for more good food, great company, and lots of smiles.

There’s something special about teamwork! 🧩💙

Last Friday, our lovely residents at Edward House came together to help each other complete a jigsaw puzzle, sharing ideas, laughter, and plenty of encouragement along the way. It was wonderful to see everyone working side by side, proving that every piece—and every person—has an important part to play.
Activities like these are a great way to keep minds active, build friendships, and create happy memories together. Well done to everyone who took part! 🌟

Another great combo.....

Following on from our exercise and singing session, the residents at Normanton Lodge have indulged in another great combo....a spot of dancing to keep fit, followed by some lovely ice creams to stay cool! There was a lot of enthusiasm for both, and the ice creams went down a treat in this hot weather. What would be your favourite combo?

Keeping active and having fun! 😊💪

Our Edward House residents enjoyed a fantastic exercise session recently, getting moving, stretching, and sharing plenty of smiles along the way.
Staying active is a wonderful way to support both physical and mental wellbeing, and it's always even more enjoyable when it's done together. We're so proud of everyone who joined in and gave it their best!
