Since having break for maternity I thought some people never really 'got' Flow2sow. Maybe I should change things up, change my name, do some rebranding.

It's hard not to compare online, I see all these really well put together accounts that look all professional with catchy names etc 😅

BUT.. then I thought to myself you know what no, I'm keeping flow 2 sow. Flow 2 sow means something to me. Yes I could change it to something catchy or sleek and modern or trendy but that's just not the point and it's not just a brand. It's my little teeny business which I created from my heart and Flow 2 sow meant something to me 5 years ago and it still means the same to me now.

I'm not a big swanky yoga studio, a director or CEO I'm just little ole me. A girl from the north east of England that has seen pain and suffering in people's eyes and felt the hurt that it made to my heart and wanted to help people. That's it.

And as I've said so many times before, yoga helped me. Helped me to have less thoughts, to feel more peaceful, to feel more confident in who I am and so yoga helped me to plant or sow the seeds for growth. The flow of movement, breath, energy helped me to overcome so much, it helped me to accept myself so I can continue to grow and bloom. It helped me to be brave and follow my heart and my dreams to create Flow 2 sow in the first place and so it's here to stay ❤️🌱

And maybe, hopefully with what I share at Flow 2 sow I can help someone to feel more confident, more peaceful, more in tune with their heart or maybe, just maybe I can help someone find their own way to grow like they never believed possible, now that's the dream ✨

And surely everything we do should have meaning?
Anyway, as I sit here feeling all emotional with watery eyes, this is Flow to sow 🙏🥰

As most of you know I've been having a little break from yoga whilst on maternity and I just wanted to put a little update out there.

I will be taking some classes and holding some one off events in the coming months but I have some exciting travel plans near the end of the year so my regular classes that I was teaching will be taken over by the lovely teachers that are currently covering 🥹

Mixed emotions about this! Anyone who comes to my classes knows I LOVE teaching them and I love connecting with all the lovely souls who attend. It really is what makes it and I will so miss this!

But yoga teaches us to be present and to follow your heart which is what I have to do ❤️

AND I'm not going anywhere yet 😬 you'll see me popping up covering various classes from September and as I say the odd one off event. Keep your eyes peeled

I hope to see you there and I can't wait to connect with you all again 🥰

Namaste 🙏✨

I had an email this week with the caption 'accelerate your healing journey' what a load of sh*te 🤣
People who claim this are just trying to rip you off😑

I try not to use the word healing too much these days because it's been totally overused and a bit loaded but hey ho

Everyone has something in their life that's caused them hurt, we've all got our own things we want to work through or overcome but no matter what you do you can't 'accelerate' healing. It's a process. In my opinion, a life long process and I don't think that you just wake up one day and you're like that's it, I'm healed now 😅 unfortunately haha

Even if you feel better about a situation, you be the bigger person and say sorry and mean it, you forgive people, you forgive yourself, etc, etc. One day out of the blue a smell, a sound, a place, a person can put you right back in that very moment and you have that feeling again. This is where healing comes in... You chose how you react to that feeling.

That's not to say you shouldn't feel angry or sad or whatever ever it is, it's recognising the feeling but not acting out of that emotion. You can still feel angry and not go and punch someone even if you want to 😂 that's progress 🙌

This is just a teeny tiny example I could go on but insta word limit won't let me 😂

Unfortunately the 'wellness' industry seems to be flooded with captions like this, people who claim to have a quick fix to healing 🤦‍♀️ they're lying. No quick fix, just real life hard work that's up and down and messy and beautiful and worth it ❤️

And just to end, there are lots of lovely souls in the world who will support you along the way, who can show you things that are helpful so you can connect with your body and mind and come home to yourself🙏🥰✨

Motherhood is humbling ❤️

For a long time I lived in fight or flight and I didn't even really realise it. In my 20s I struggled with thoughts on repeat, worries going round and round. It could be something big or small like worrying that 'I should of said that differently'  or 'maybe that's why they haven't replied to my message because I've said the wrong thing'.
Thoughts on repeat, bouncing from one thing to the next.
This could go on for days!!

I hated silence, needed constant background noise just as a distraction.

When I think back I can't believe how hung up I was on daft things but the stress is REAL. Your body feels it even if you don't know it at the time. Exhausting!

Over the years with practicing yoga, movement, stillness, breathing, actually connecting with myself, it gradually, without me even realising, got better. My mind got more quiet, I enjoyed silence. I could sit with my thoughts.

I didn't realise I was in fight or flight until I was out of it 😅 I didn't realise I had been walking around, shoulders up, jaw tensed, holding my belly in with tension. I didn't realise I hadn't been present for most of my life. Always somewhere else in my mind

You hear a lot about healing these days as if it's the ultimate goal 'to be healed' and motherhood gave me a huge reminder of how healing is not linear. There's no direct path straight to 'being healed'. It's constant ups and downs with whatever life throws at you

Yoga has helped me so much which is why I am so passionate about sharing it. With hormones and general motherhood, I could feel that fight or flight feeling in my body again. Adrenaline, the thoughts, not as extreme as in my 20s but I felt it. Shoulders up, jaw and belly tense. Now 4 and a half months in I feel more relaxed again, more in control of my nervous system again 🙏
My practice is not what it used to be but it's there always 🥰

I just wanted to remind anyone who needs it that 'healing' or feeling good isn't linear, it's not normal to feel 100% all the time, to never worry or feel stressed. It's Yin Yang. Both exist at the same time. Both temporary. You haven't went backwards, you are exactly where you're meant to be ❤️
