It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of our beloved mam/nana/friend Betty. Passed away at home on 23/08/26, age 85. It was your terms right till the end.

You will be missed more than words can say and remembered always.

She leaves behind daughter Dawn, granddaughter Jade and great grandchildren Archie and Skylar and her special friend Leanne.

Back in the arms of your beloved Martin and reunited with your best friend little Betty.

We invite everyone who knew Betty to attend her service, which will take place at South Shields Crematorium on Friday the 18th of September at 10:30AM, followed by a gathering at the Whiteleas social club.

No flowers (on Betty’s request) donations can be made after the service to age concern.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Rita Campbell (née Potts), who passed away peacefully in Hospital on the evening of Monday 24th August 2026, aged 91.

Rita was the beloved wife of Peter, much-loved mam of Peter, Jane and Christopher, adored Granny of Liam, Elyse and Joseph, treasured mother-in-law of Nigel and Adrienne, dearly loved sister of Winifred and of those who went before her, a devoted aunty to her nieces and nephews, and a valued friend to many.

A funeral service for Rita will take place at St Aloysius RC Church, Hebburn, on Thursday 17th September at 1:15pm. Family and friends are warmly invited to join the family afterwards at Fitzgerald's, formerly The Green, to remember Rita and share memories.

Family flowers only please. Donations in Rita’s memory, if desired, would be gratefully received by a charity of your choice.
Rest in peace, Rita. You will be sorely missed by many and fondly remembered by all who knew you.

It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Norman Sultan, who passed away peacefully in his sleep following a long-term illness.

A much-loved son to Ruth Roberta, brother to Soraya and the late Brian. Uncle to Dario, Christopher, Brian, Kareem, Cassim, Hazina, the late Nicola and his ex partner of 16 years Joanne and daughter Demi and friend to many.

He was a truly kind, caring and generous person, with a wonderful personality and a warmth that made him so well-loved by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. Norman was incredibly generous with his time and support for others.
We feel incredibly grateful to have had Norman in our lives. He leaves behind a lifetime of memories, stories and special moments that we will cherish forever. Although we will miss him tremendously, the love we have for him will never leave us, and he will remain forever in our hearts.
We take some comfort in knowing that Norman is now reunited with his beloved brother, Brian, who will be there to look after him.

Norman’s funeral service will take place at South Shields Crematorium on Thursday 10th September at 12:30pm.
Family and friends are warmly invited to join us as we come together to say our final farewell to Norman and celebrate the wonderful life he lived.

It is with the deepest sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mam, grandma and friend to so many.

Liz fought a courageous battle and fought until the very end. Sadly, she passed away on 18th August, aged 72, surrounded by her loving family.

Liz was a beloved wife to Brian, Mam to Gary and Anthony, mother- in- law to Tracy and Cassie , grandma to Alyssa, Taylor and Alannah, and a very special great-grandma to Albie. Cherished Cousin and a dear friend to all.

Liz was a kind, caring and loving person who had a way of making the lives of everyone around her that little bit better. She was a truly special person, loved by so many, and will always be remembered for her warmth, her strength and the love she gave so freely to others.

She was always there for the people she loved, offering kindness, comfort and support whenever it was needed. Her family meant everything to her, and she was happiest surrounded by the people she loved. Her strength throughout her life, and especially during her final days, was something that will never be forgotten.

Liz leaves behind a lifetime of beautiful memories that will be cherished forever. Although our hearts are broken by her loss, we will take comfort in knowing how deeply she was loved and how much happiness she brought into the lives of everyone lucky enough to know her.

A service will be held at South Shields Crematorium on Monday 14th September 2026 at 9:45am, followed by a burial at Harton Cemetery at 10:30am. Afterwards we will be heading to The Hedworth Hall from 11am. If you would like to join us and raise a glass to the most beautiful person we all knew and loved, all is welcome.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dearly loved Mam and Nana on 12th August 2026, aged 84 years.

We invite everyone who knew Mam to join us in celebrating her wonderful life on 8th September at South Shields Crematorium at 9:45am for the service, followed by the interment at Jarrow Cemetery.

Everyone is also welcome at Jarrow Buffs Club afterwards to raise a gin in Mam’s memory.

Mam will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by Dawn, John, Julie and Glen; son-in-law David; daughter-in-law Angelina; and partners Bobby and Paula.

She will also be sadly missed by all her grandchildren and their partners, and her dearly loved great-grandchildren.

Mam will be greatly missed by all her extended family and friends, and by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

She leaves behind a lifetime of treasured memories that will remain forever in the hearts of those who loved her. Her kindness, warmth and presence will never be forgotten.

Mam, you will be forever loved, forever remembered and forever missed by your broken-hearted family.

Suddenly but peacefully, Merv passed away at home on 17th August, aged 63 years old.

A much loved son to the late Isobel & Tommy, a fantastic little brother to Keith & Karen and an adored father to Chloe & Kirstie who will miss him endlessly. He was a loving partner to Rose, great father-in-law to Paul & Garry and an uncle, nephew, cousin and friend to so many.

We invite everyone who knew Mervin to celebrate his wonderful life on 14th September at South Shields crematorium at 1:15pm, then onto The Mill Tavern in Hebburn to raise a Southern Comfort in his memory.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Maureen Telford, who passed away peacefully on 17th August, aged 88 years.
Reunited with her beloved husband John, her dear mam Ellen, and her dad Matthew. Maureen was a devoted mother to John, David, Suzanne, and Philip, and a cherished nana, great-grandmother, mother-in-law, and friend to so many. She brought so much light, warmth, and laughter into all our lives and will be missed beyond words.
