This made me giggle today. š A few weeks ago I picked this up in a charity shop for a little boy I work with who loves flags and countries. We had a great time playing pairs, practising lots of language as we went. He even took it home for a week to play with his family.
Today, though, he absolutely refused to play it. Why?
Because the label says "No returns."
In his words: "No. No returns... yesterday." š¤£
I love these moments. They give such a wonderful insight into how some autistic children make sense of language by taking it literally.
A brilliant reminder that children aren't just learning words, they're working incredibly hard to make sense of what those words mean.
