Ever wondered what your spine would say after a long day sitting at a desk? Sitting in one position for hours puts continuous pressure on your spinal alignment and surrounding muscles.

Movement is essential because staying active helps encourage healthy joint mobility and supports your nervous system. Taking regular, short breaks to stretch or go for a brief walk can support your comfort and aims to improve how your body feels throughout the afternoon.

Small daily adjustments to your routine often make a meaningful difference to your overall wellbeing. Remember to listen to your body and give yourself permission to get up and move today! 🦴✨

Health is earned, not given. It is built through the small, daily choices we make for our minds and bodies. Taking a moment to stand and stretch, enjoying a nutritious meal, staying well-hydrated, or reading a good book to keep your brain active all add up over time.

At Life Effect, we believe that consistent habits support your overall alignment and nervous system function. Taking care of your wellbeing is a daily practice. What is one positive habit you are focusing on today? 💧📖

Think chiropractic care is only for your neck and back? Think again! While spinal alignment is at the core of what we do, our care extends much further.

In this video, Isaac explains how and why we also look at ankles and feet. Your feet are the foundation of your body, and any misalignment there can impact your knees, hips, and the rest of your spine. By taking an evidence-based approach, we look at the whole picture to see how your nervous system and joint function can support your overall movement.

Our team focuses on providing thorough care that aims to improve your day-to-day comfort and wellbeing. 🦶

The vagus nerve originates in the brainstem and travels down through the neck into the chest and abdomen. It connects the brain to many major organs, including the heart, lungs, digestive tract, liver and pancreas. 🧠

Its primary role is to regulate the parasympathetic nervous system, often called the “rest and digest” system. This system helps: Slow the heart rate, Lower blood pressure, reduce inflammation, Promote relaxation and recovery.

When the vagus nerve is functioning well, the body is adaptable and balanced. When it is impaired, the body can become stuck in “fight or flight.”

The upper cervical spine-specifically the atlas (C1) and axis (C2),is uniquely positioned at the base of the skull, directly beneath the brainstem.
This region is the most neurologically dense area of the spine and is responsible for supporting the head and allowing movement. It is also closely associated with the brainstem, where the vagus nerve originates.

A healthy neck has a natural lordotic curve. This curve helps distribute mechanical stress and protects the spinal cord and brainstem. When this curve is lost (often due to poor posture or injury) it can Increase tension on the spinal cord and brainstem, Reduce shock absorption or even alter biomechanics of the upper cervical joints

This added stress can interfere with the normal function of the vagus nerve and other autonomic pathways.

When the vagus nerve is not functioning properly, a wide range of symptoms can develop. These often overlap with conditions like POTS and dysautonomia.
