Good evening,
How is everyone dealing with these insane temperatures?π€¦ββοΈ
We just aren't used to it are we......& its seems to be on-going π¬
This kind of added stress, where everything feels difficult and everyone can be annoying is very tricky to manage. Some people like the heat but most are feeling this is a bit much, especially those working outside or in stuffy environments, such as cafes, kitchens etc...
Heat is ok when you dont have to do "life" but unfortunately most of us just have to carry on as normal!
Here are some top tips, even if it helps a little to ease those frayed nerves....
π³ carry out mindfulness and deep breathing - take up to 10 breaths in through nose and out through mouth to calm your nervous system down
π³take a cold shower - boosts your mental health as the cold triggers a "hormetic" response - a surge of good hormones such as dopamine, norodrenaline and endorphins! ......these elavate your mood- reduce your stress levels ......(turn that boiler off - save money)
π³take a slow walk in the woods to get out and keep under the shade of the trees...find a stream, dangle feet in it
π³head to the water, sea π breeze etc - reduces stress levels, listen to hear the water...better still get in...
π³place your feet in cold water, bucket or sink bowl
π³cold flannel/ice packs - on your pressure points, forehead, wrists, ankles
π³stay hydrated - super important! Heatstroke is awful π
π³avoid anything strenuous withing the hours of 11-3pm....try to shift heavy jobs forward to early morning or late evening
π³tell yourself you will be ok....this period of time will pass....it feels overwhelming when we are in a heatwave
π³cancel the non-essential things to lesson the hassle of life ......leave the dog at home, in shade ...they won't die from not having a walk until the temperatures come down!
I'm sure the temperatures are hitting higher than these below - Try to stay cool π
