Me - ‘Yeah so I traded gym for Acroyoga.’

Not me - ‘Oww… do you do that in the pool?’

Me - ‘No, not aqua, acro!’

This is how conversations often start when I tell people I do Acroyoga.

I first mentioned Acroyoga in Motion Forword Issue 8 when I had been doing it for 2 months. Now its been well 2 years of me throwing people around and having some fun in the process…

This sequence was a lovely flow and as you can tell I was very happy once we got it!

You can perhaps see why Acroyoga has taken over from the gym. There is still a fair amount of strength involved, co-ordination and balance and flexibility!

I’m still pretty inflexible but wow how I have improved. When I look back at how bent my knees are, disgraceful!

But it’s not all plain sailing. There has been some difficult times and it doesn’t all come easily. There are plenty of ‘bloopers’ but that is all part of the learning and fun.

2️⃣0️⃣1️⃣6️⃣ Jumping on the 2016 band wagon...

📖 In 2016 (October time mind) I went to my graduation from BCOM (British College of Osteopathic Medicine). Completing 4 years of study and receiving my 1st class honours in my Masters in Osteopathy.

📖 Coming top in my class (maybe that's why I am right in the middle at the top!?) and receiving the Bennetto Prize to reflect my achievements in my research project.

📖 I also pioneered the Students Choice Award to praise and thank a fellow student in our year who had supported everyone without asking. Which I presented to my friend on stage. A worthy winner.

📖 So 10 years on from those gruelling days studying and working hard with friends that will last a lifetime. I wouldn't change a thing and so grateful for such great times.

Day 33 of 1 extra press up per day.

Officially beat 32 press ups! A 6 day (unintentional) rest which made it feel much easier but still got the gains from before!

Winning!

This demonstrates the SAID Principle:

Specific Adaptation to Imposed Demand. I.e. practice makes potential, consistency beats motivation.

Disclaimer: this isn't training advice and shouldn't be taken as such. Its a light way of trying to demonstrate the effects of consistency in training
