There comes a point in life when we stop questioning our worth every time someone walks away.
We learn that not everyone will understand us, choose us, or stay—and that’s okay. Instead of chasing explanations, we begin to respect people’s decisions and protect our own peace.
Growth is realising that being alone is not the same as being lonely. We no longer need an invitation to feel valued, nor do we need to keep giving kindness in the hope of receiving it back.
Sometimes, people reveal their true colours, and although it may hurt, it also brings clarity. We learn to let go without bitterness, stay silent without guilt, and move forward without constantly asking, “What did I do wrong?”
The strongest version of ourselves is not the one who is accepted by everyone. It is the one who can walk away from what disturbs their peace and still feel whole.
Because protecting your peace is not selfish—it is self-respect.
