I was told to get out of my imagination at school - now I spend my time using it to try as hard as I can to put myself in your shoes.

By consistently trying to envisage your world and how it feels for you, I can do better at understanding you. I won't always get it right, but in trying, I can get closer to your viewpoint.

Ensuring that you feel understood and heard is such a priority in the therapeutic relationship.

Feel like you have to be happy?
You might have a Be-Strong driver.

If being 'okay' and 'fine' is your go-to, and the idea of sharing that you're struggling or having a bad day gives you the heebie-jeebies... chances are that at some point along the way, you may have picked up the idea that you can't ne anything but 'OKAY'. That struggling or having an issue would make you a burden or a problem.

In my CEN workshop on the 16th of September, you'll get to find out what Childhood Emotional Neglect is, why it's often missed or glazed over, and how it might be impacting you, your life and your relationships.

If you're curious and would like to find out more, I'd love to see you there.

There are only 15 spaces available to keep it small, and if you'd like to attend all three workshops, there's 10% off available.

What would the process of your good life look like?

This quote always pulls me to that 'it's a journey' type of saying, and I think to some degree, it is true.

Life is ever-changing, and sometimes it might feel like we've got stuck on a path that isn't particularly fun, nice or enjoyable.

Sometimes we can find ways to navigate differently and take new paths, which can make it much more enjoyable.

What do you think? Is happiness a process, or a final destination? 🤔

Ever wondered why you do things the way you do?

If you're curious about childhood emotional neglect - or the way your needs were or weren't met in childhood - this short workshop could give you answers about what CEN is, why it doesn't mean your parents were bad people, and how it could be impacting you now as an adult!

It's the first workshop in a series of three - I'd love to see you there.

If you or someone you know would be interested, you can book all three workshops and get 10% off.

Book via the website or DM for a direct link!

New Blog post up this morning - how do you feel about being honest in therapy?

Save it for later or share with a friend who's nervous about starting sessions - they might find it reassuring!

I love this quote, but it can be so much harder in practice to accept yourself.

Particularly if you've got years of experience in not even really liking yourself, let alone accepting yourself.

If you've been battling, trying to be nicer to yourself, trying to find new ways forward, having therapy sessions can be a really supportive space to have someone who listens, no judgement, just kind, attentive support, to help you forge a way to getting to know yourself again without judging yourself so harshly.

To take steps towards finding things you do like.

To move towards a life that feels more like your own.

Childhood emotional neglect often impacts quietly. Just enough that it's tangible, but you can't always put your finger on WHY you do things the way you do.

Why real vulnerability feels scary.

Why you'd prefer to be at work rather than with your loved ones, even though you do really love them.

Why do you still feel like you need to prove yourself, even if you've already achieved wonderful things?

Why you're constantly worried about what others think, how you come across or whether you're making the 'right' choices.

Maybe you recognise yourself in some of this, or someone you care about.
