💜 Today on international overdose awareness day The Forward Trust southend recovery community came together to remember those we have sadly lost and to reflect on the importance of recovery, support, and hope.
It was a brilliant day filled with connection, conversation, and remembrance. We also raised awareness of the vital role that Naloxone can play in preventing overdose deaths and helping to save lives.
A huge thank you to everyone who attended and to all those who kindly brought in food to share. Your generosity helped create a warm, welcoming atmosphere where people could come together, support one another, and honour the memories of those no longer with us.
Together, we continue to promote awareness, reduce stigma, and show that recovery is possible. ❤️

On our The Forward Trust southend walk and talk at the Wellbeing Garon Park we had a lovely moment We came across Shumei and were amazed by their absolutely gorgeous tomatoes. 🍅 It was a wonderful reminder of the benefits of spending time closer to nature, enjoying the fresh air, and appreciating the simple things that help support our wellbeing. 🌱💚

Today our fantastic volunteers have been hard at sprucing up the front of the building, and preparing spaces for beautiful flowers to brighten the environment.🪻🌷🌱
Other volunteers are busy painting reception 🎨
Their commitment, enthusiasm and teamwork help make STARS The Forward Trust a welcoming place for everyone who visits. We are so grateful for all the time, effort and care they put into improving our community space. 💥🌟🎨

STARS 🌟 Peer supporter Matthew Takes on Mount Snowdon Challenge

We are incredibly proud of Matthew, one of our dedicated STARS Peer supporters, who is taking on the challenge of climbing Mount Snowdon to raise funds and awareness for the southend The Forward Trust recovery community.

Matthew has been an invaluable member of the STARS team, using his lived experience to support, encourage, and inspire others on their recovery journeys.

Now, Matthew has set himself an exciting personal challenge by climbing Mount Snowdon, the highest mountain in Wales. This achievement represents not only a physical challenge but also demonstrates the determination, resilience, and strength that recovery can build.

To support his fundraising efforts, Matthew has created a GoFundMe page, where friends, family, colleagues, and community members can contribute towards his cause. Every donation, no matter how small, will help support the work that makes a difference to people in recovery and those affected by addiction.
