I stumbled across this beautiful memory tree while out walking at the weekend. Each cup hanging from its branches held a memory of someone loved and lost. I think this is such a creative and meaningful way to honour grief and connection.

Moving forward after loss can feel incredibly difficult. Finding ways to remember and stay connected to the people we’ve lost can be an important part of grieving and healing. There’s no “right” way to do this - only what feels meaningful to you.

Some ways people hold connection with loved ones who have died:

💚 Creating a memory box filled with photos, keepsakes, letters or scents.
💚 Writing letters to the person you’ve lost.
Visiting a place that holds special memories.
💚 Listening to music or looking through photographs that bring moments back to life.
💚 Creating small rituals or traditions in their honour.

What do you do to stay connected to the people you have lost?

Ever have one of those weeks where you feel like you’re surviving rather than thriving?
And then that inner critic gets a little louder… making it harder to give yourself the credit you truly deserve.

This is your reminder: that inner critic is often shaped by old rules and past pressures.
It’s not a true reflection of who you are.
You are allowed to write your own narrative.

When that voice gets loud, pause for a moment.
Reflect on the small, meaningful wins from your week.
And remember, just because that voice is loud, doesn’t mean it’s right.

This week, I’ve been reminding myself that even within “surviving”… there is still thriving. 🌱

Can you name one small win from your week?

Progress doesn’t have to be overwhelming.
Try focusing on three manageable things each day:

💪 Physical
🧠 Mental
🌿 Mindfulness

They don’t have to be big or time consuming, just intentional.

Mother’s Day can bring many different emotions.

While today is often seen as a day of celebration, for many people it can also bring up grief, complicated memories, or feelings of loss.

Mother’s Day can feel especially difficult if you are:
🌱 grieving a loss
🌱 estranged from a family member
🌱 navigating a difficult relationship
🌱 struggling with fertility or longing to become a parent
🌱 parenting without support

Days like today can bring emotions we might normally try to push aside. And that’s completely understandable.

There is no “right” way to feel today.

You might choose to celebrate.
You might choose to remember.
You might need space, rest, or quiet.

Counselling can offer a safe and supportive space to explore these feelings, process difficult experiences, and feel heard without judgement.

If Mother’s Day is bringing up emotions for you, support is here when you’re ready. 💚
