Supporting the Next Generation of Talent

As summer draws to a close, we'll soon be saying goodbye to placement students Shria, Layn and Elsbeth as they return to their studies.

From the moment they joined Europlaz, they impressed us with their enthusiasm, professionalism and willingness to get involved. In fact, we originally planned to recruit two students, but after meeting them during the recruitment process, we were so impressed that we decided to welcome all three to the team.

Over the past year, they have gained hands-on experience across a range of projects and departments, from manufacturing and engineering to quality and regulatory affairs. Along the way, they've developed new skills, built strong working relationships and made a valuable contribution to the business.

As Ian Goodacre, Technical Director, commented:
"It's been fantastic to see Shria, Layn and Elsbeth grow in confidence and develop their skills during their time at Europlaz. They've embraced opportunities across the business, made a positive impact in several teams and demonstrated exactly why investing in emerging talent is so important."

At Europlaz, we're proud to create opportunities for our people to develop new skills, take on new challenges and build rewarding careers.

Recently, we caught up with two colleagues who have progressed from Production into new roles within the business.

Oliver Seex recently moved into our Commercial team. When asked what motivated the change, he said:

"I really enjoyed being an operator, however I knew going into the Commercial department would be a challenging experience that could only better my career."

Asked what he enjoys most about his new role, Oliver highlighted the support he's received from his colleagues:

"The whole team has been amazing and always available if I had questions."

Jacob Tunbridge De Orfe recently transitioned into our Quality team after discovering a passion for manufacturing and wanting to build on the experience he'd gained on the production floor.

"When a role came up in Quality, it felt like a great opportunity to progress and build on that experience."

And when asked what he enjoys most about being part of the Quality team, Jacob said:

"Everyone's been really welcoming, and I know I can always ask questions and learn from the team."

We're delighted to see Oliver and Jacob thriving in their new roles and are proud to support colleagues as they develop their careers across the business.

A part that works as a prototype does not always work at volume.

A part can perform exactly as intended in testing and still be difficult, or expensive, to manufacture at volume. Undercuts, tight tolerances and features that were never designed with tooling in mind all add cost and delay once production starts.
