Reach Flower Pods are horticultural day centres based in Southwell and Newark. We are part of Reach Learning Disability. Our head office is in Southwell.

Reach Learning Disability supports over 250 adults in Nottinghamshire. We have five centres: Reach Southwell, Reach Newark, Reach Mansfield, Flower Pod Southwell and Flower Pod Newark. We support our clients and their carers by offering courses and activities eg gardening, computer skills, arts, drama, singing and dance to promote health and wellbeing, raise confidence and self esteem. We also organise social events and holidays.

A huge thank you to Al for opening his garden and raising money for Reach through the sale of teas and coffees.

Thank you also to everyone who came along and supported the event, as well as all the wonderful bakers who helped make the cake sale possible.

🌿☕ It was a pleasure to welcome committee members of The Arts Society Trent Valley to Flower Pod Southwell last Friday for coffee, cake and a tour of the site.

During their visit, we showed the many areas of Flower Pod that are continually growing and developing, finishing in our beautiful Reflection Garden. This special space was made possible thanks to a generous £250 contribution from The Arts Society Trent Valley, matched by their national organisation and matched again through our Big Give Christmas Challenge supporters, making it a £1000 donation.

The Reflection Garden now features a lovely bench, a Tree of Life, reflection pools and screening, creating a calm and peaceful environment for adults with learning disabilities, staff and volunteers to enjoy.

We are incredibly grateful for their support and delighted to be able to offer this tranquil space where people can relax, reflect and connect with nature. 💚

🎉☕🍰 We are delighted to share that Reach has achieved the Carer Friendly Quality Mark for 2026/27 from Nottinghamshire Carers Association

To celebrate this achievement, our Carers Manager, Sarah Wagstaff, hosted a coffee and cake afternoon at Flower Pod Southwell, bringing carers together to recognise this important milestone.

We are incredibly proud of the work we do to support carers of adults with learning disabilities through our outreach services, as well as our commitment to being a carer-friendly employer. Supporting carers to feel valued, understood and connected is an important part of creating stronger communities for everyone.

A huge thank you to all the carers, staff and supporters who help make this possible. 💙

At 41 Church Street, you can also enjoy delicious teas and cakes, fundraising for Reach Learning Disability. There will also be a plant stall from Norwell Nurseries and, for the first time, a stall featuring beautiful cards painted by Barbara Coulam of Farnsfield.

Whether you're looking for gardening inspiration, a relaxing environment, or a way to support a local charity, it promises to be a lovely afternoon. 💚

We had such a good time boating on Hoveringham Lake there's an endless library of photos and videos to share!

Thank you so much to Notts County Sailing Club for having us, it was a fantastic day to learn new skills, challenge ourselves and have fun with friends.
