📣 Symmetry Shout - out to this unbelievable achievement gobbling up 113KM, which is 70miles by the way - in 17 hours. Conquering his first Back Yard Ultra that really demonstrated a real sense of support, community and heart. All involved really dug deep and showed enormous heart.

“Had a great experience with Chris at Symmetry Sports Massage. He was really friendly and took the time to understand my training volume and background before deciding which areas to focus on.

You can tell he is extremely knowledgeable and genuinely cares about what he is doing.

The massage itself was excellent, I’m already feeling less tension and more flexibility in my muscles.

Chris also checked in with me the following day to see how I was feeling and provide some aftercare advice.

I will absolutely be back again and I would absolutely recommend to anyone looking for a high quality sports massage in a relaxed and friendly setting.”

Will, is one of the nicest gents I’ve had the pleasure of meeting. From a simple nod and a thumbs up at the start line to a message of ‘Well done, smashed that!’ to joining for one of the club runs.

I would highly recommend you make an appearance, one of the most welcoming group of people and runners. They are doing something good here!

Will, is certainly a determined soul and really isn’t one to boast or shout about his training. It is methodical, thoughtful and gets it done. A seasoned runner, who is now taking the miles to the next level!

It has been absolutely fascinating hearing about the fuelling, the double runs and simulation training. Makes marathon training look easy 👀

You’ve worked hard and most certainly achieved!

It has been a pleasure working with you, thank you for allowing me to play a small part in making you feel ‘human’ again.

I totally look forward to working with you for your next block - you will be totally wicked! Proper champion 🧡🩷🩵

Dear Client, you are truly inspirational…

The hour we spend.
The goals you set.

The restriction or tightness.
The feeling of can I do this.
Will I do this.
Signing up to something new.
Trying something new.
The list could go on…

Every session is unique to you - how we work is all geared towards your goals and ultimately wanting to feel ‘human’ again.

You don’t have to have a big goal, I’m happy being part of that adventure with you.

If you read this far and would like to book in - reach out, make contact. We are now taking bookings from mid to end of September. DM or visit the website to secure a date.

Sometimes. Massage can take your breath away. Quite literally. There are certainly going to be moments, where it will feel, ‘spicy’.

This is completely normal.

Muscles have moved, been working and competed hard. Not all sessions are like this, but you will have moments where you, might need to ‘yelp’

Let me assure you, a sports massage isn’t a continuous ‘house of pain’ feeling or ‘no pain, no gain’ - these views are outdated. If a technique used is uncomfortable, speak up, get your therapist to switch it up. They want you to be comfortable.

If you read this far and you’ve been thinking, yep, I would like to book in - September dates are available. Reach out DM or visit the website to make that enquiry. Get them legs feeling fresh!

“A true professional from start to finish. A sports therapist, who not only understands the mechanics of the body but also takes the time to ensure every aspect of treatment is precise and tailored. What a revelation & inspiration”

Wowsers trousers! What a MEGA ride! Helen, it has been totally awesome being updated with progress and photos throughout last week of your mega adventure! You should be proud of the training because you have worked hard for this. It has been an absolute pleasure working with you. I have loved how excited you have got over new bike fits, gear and the possibilities of what next. You have certainly educated me in the ways of a cyclist!

Helen is a proper ‘cool as a cucumber’ character, works hard and takes every training session, new distance and experience as a really win. Someone who just adores being able to move, participate and will give it some on race day!

I can’t wait to hear what city you will cycle to next!

Helen Turner - Peachey thank you for choosing Symmetry to be part of this journey and it has been a delight keeping you in ‘tip top’ condition.

Helen, has nearly topped her 2K goal for donations to the Alzheimer’s Society Alzheimer's Society if you would like to donate - either big or small it would be truly welcomed. Link below:

If Symmetry, could plan your week it would be a week of hiking, breakfasts and coffee sipping with a view. Looking up and being in the moment. A small highlight of a week condensed into 10 images.

If you are feeling like you need that reset, training load increased or the office creaks have set in - reach out. Make that contact, and we can get a date in the diary.

Starting is the hardest part. Keep it simple. Start. Never over think it. Here are the 5 MUSTS I would do when starting a 5K plan.

1. Your target is the distance. Not pace. Starting out too fast, will only lead to fatigue, injury and burning out before the first week has been complete. Steady pace. A pace that you aren’t gasping for air, a pace if you were brave enough to sing or hold a conversation. If solo running, chat to yourself, if it sounds broken and inaudible - you are running too fast.

2. Sunglasses and a hat. For some reason it makes you feel invisible and like no one is watching. I still do it now and for most runs. 😎

3. A small bottle of water. Yes, the first few runs are going to be a run and walk - but you will need a little freshen up. Your body won’t be use to moving in this way, be prepared to sweat. Even if you use a bit to cool the wrists or face. It is better to have something than be too far from home and thirsty 💦

4. By week 3 you will be flying. Those trainers will need an upgrade. Treat yourself. Gait analysis and new kicks - this is now a serious hobby. You want trainers to be supportive and not give blisters or worse case an injury. You don’t need to spend lots but a good pair will give you between 300 - 500 miles. Upgrade 👟

5. Tell people about it. They will most definitely notice a difference in your confidence and appearance. Also note how it makes you feel - not the tired part but the excitement, enjoyment and freedom part. Use this as your driver 🎉

Bonus - at the end of your training plan. You have a 5K a distance under your belt. You never thought you would have been able to run this far before. Mega achievement. Those legs will need some TLC. Treat yo’self to a sports massage, you are a runner after all 😉

This is AWESOME and there is a lot of you, who have taken that time. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

To those that have reached out but not made it through the doors - you are always welcome. I do hope the rehab advice shared or when I’ve signposted you to others, you have got the help you needed.

However you are cooling down. Stay safe and hydrated. Training in this heat, whoa, it is okay to take a few days out and adjust the miles or better still, put those feet up. Allow the body to recover.

Here are SOME not all August dates. I’m keeping some dates for my favourite clients 😉

If you are new, having a scroll and you have landed here. You must’ve been thinking about getting a sports massage to keep you in, fine working order. I will be taking on new clients in August and the first session is 90 minutes. It is pinned at the top for the list of reasons, why this is a MUST.

Drink plenty. Eat them picky bits for tea. Cool showers. Be kind yourself and this heat maybe lasting a little longer than expected but it won’t last for too longer. Says the BBC weather 🙃

In all seriousness, DM or visit the website - link in bio - ask questions, enquire - I will happily get that date secured for you.

Sports massage isn’t a luxury. Make it part of your monthly recovery routine. See this as a gentle reminder that things build up:

the miles
the weights
the travel
the desk sitting
the screen watching
the list could go on

If these have resonated or you have been thinking, or even talking about getting a sports massage.

I’d be reaching out.

Take that first step to getting your recovery on track.

For me it is a must, and it makes me feel like I’m truly human again.

My mind is happy.
Body is ready.
Training can continue.

If you have been on the fence, not sure - reach out, ask questions.

August diary is now open - DM or visit the website link in bio.

Work with people who are truly awesome. Cheerleaders, supporters and ultimately enjoy being a team. 2 years ago I would never have thought this was possible. Started with one team and now entered with two, this is magic. A third team, is a must!

A celebration and appreciation, to the community Symmetry is building with its clients.

A team of people who train, set goals and put recovery/maintenance into their training plans.

Their experience, race stories and advice is truly mega. One piece of advice that is in commonly shared between them all, is building in regular massage into their training.

Running. Lifting. Strength and conditioning. They’ve got this in their plan - adding in massage aids recovery and gives that, ‘ahhhhh’ reset moment.

Allowing them to recover, ease and continue positively with their training.

At the same time avoiding, preventing and keeping themselves injury free. Massage is most definitely a key player in this.

These are athletes in my eyes.

If you are moving, lifting or hiking you are an athlete.

It is your mindset, dedication and continuous pushing to achieve a set goal, which I think is truly ace!

A shout out. A celebration. A team.

This is what Symmetry is all about, valuing your journey and you as a client, welcoming you into a community.

These vests have certainly peaked interest out in the wild with past and current clients…something might make that more possible, soon.

If you got this far, and you have been on the fence about massage - get in touch, secure a slot and add massage into your training.

Trust me, massage makes me feel human again.
