At Limewood, we are always looking for ways to enhance our environment and create spaces that feel welcoming, engaging and meaningful for our residents.

Recently, we came together to share ideas about what we would like to see in our living spaces, discussing colours, themes, textures and personal interests. By involving residents in the process, we can create areas that reflect their preferences and make the home feel even more personal and enjoyable.

We are delighted with some of the creative spaces we have developed so far and look forward to creating many more together in the future.

After all, the best spaces are those shaped by the people who use and enjoy them every day.

Residents recently enjoyed a peaceful faith healing session with Brenda and friends.

The session provided a wonderful opportunity to relax, reflect and unwind in a calm and welcoming environment. With soothing music and gentle conversation, residents were able to enjoy some quiet time focused on wellbeing and connection.

Activities like these can help promote relaxation, reduce stress and create a sense of comfort and positivity.

Residents recently enjoyed another fantastic fitness session with Jack, joined by a colleague who is currently training alongside him.

The session was full of movement, encouragement and plenty of smiles, with residents enjoying the opportunity to stay active while having fun together.

Regular fitness activities can help support strength, mobility, confidence and overall wellbeing and these sessions continue to be a favourite with many of our residents.

A wonderful morning of exercise, laughter and positivity! 😊

This week, residents at Limewood have enjoyed a wonderful mix of creativity, reflection and community.

We’ve spent time getting creative with a variety of craft activities, giving residents the opportunity to express themselves and create some lovely handmade items.

Alongside this, residents attended a relaxing faith healing session with Brenda and friends, enjoying a peaceful atmosphere and time for reflection.

We also welcomed Beacon Church for our monthly church session, which is always a valued opportunity for residents to come together, share fellowship and enjoy meaningful conversation.

A lovely week filled with creativity, connection and wellbeing. 😊

💙 A packed week at Limewood for Dementia Awareness 💙

Last week, we enjoyed a jam-packed week of activities for Dementia Awareness Week, all focused on putting the “ME” in dementia and celebrating individuality, wellbeing and connection.

On Wednesday, residents took part in our fitness session with Fitnniss – “I Am Strong” – encouraging movement, confidence and positivity.

Thursday brought a calming and relaxing faith healing session with Brenda and friends called “It’s All About Me”, giving residents time to unwind and enjoy a peaceful atmosphere.

On Friday, Anna from Musical Moments joined us for “This Is Me”, where music brought everyone together through singing, memories and lots of smiles.

We finished the week on Saturday with our wonderful resident-run market, where residents proudly sold their handmade items and raised an amazing £151 for the Alzheimer’s Society. 💙

A fantastic week filled with fun, community spirit and meaningful moments for everyone involved. 😊

We recently celebrated International Nurses Day at Limewood, taking the opportunity to thank all of our incredible nurses for their hard work, compassion and dedication.

As part of the celebrations, we also recognised three of our residents who are retired nurses, thanking them for their years of contribution and care with flowers and certificates. It was a lovely and meaningful moment for everyone involved.

A huge thank you to Lyndsey, Karen, Amrutha, Rafia, Morgan, Julie, Helen, Nikki, Fay, Jan, Micheala, Julie, Jane, Phyllis, Bianca, Patience and our retired nurses Carol, Pat and Joyce.

Your kindness, commitment and support are truly appreciated every single day. 💙

We had a fantastic time on Monday coming together for our very own “Beat the Boss” challenge.

Residents enjoyed taking part in a variety of fun games and activities including darts, table football, Jenga, table tennis, duck shoot, ball bounce and even “Play Your Cards Right” on our interactive TV.

There was lots of laughter, friendly competition and cheering throughout the day, and we think it’s safe to say… the bosses were beaten! 😄

Everyone received certificates and medals to celebrate taking part and making the day such a success.

A brilliant afternoon filled with fun, smiles and teamwork. 😊

Today we are proud to celebrate International Nurses Day and recognise the incredible work carried out by nurses both here at Limewood and across the world.

Nursing requires compassion, strength, skill and unwavering dedication and our team demonstrates these qualities every single day through the care and support they provide to residents and families.

From offering reassurance and comfort to delivering specialist care, nurses play such an important role in creating a safe, supportive and positive environment within our home.

Today is an opportunity to say thank you and show our appreciation for everything our nursing team does, not just today but every day. 💙

🐝🌿 Busy days in the garden at Limewood

We’ve been getting creative and caring for nature at Limewood by making our own bee water stations using pebbles and shells.

After finding a poorly bee in the garden, residents helped care for it by giving it some sugar water to help it on its way – a lovely moment that sparked lots of conversation about wildlife and nature.

We’ve also had some new garden furniture delivered, and a few of our residents enjoyed working alongside the maintenance team to help put it together.

It’s been wonderful to spend time outdoors, enjoying the fresh air and preparing the garden for the warmer days ahead. ☀️😊

There’s been lots of creativity flowing at Limewood as residents prepare for our resident-run market (part of our Dementia Action Week celebrations on Saturday 23rd May 11am- 3.30pm

We’ve been busy crafting a variety of beautiful items, from painting moulds and paper book folding to adding flowers and exploring decoupage. We’ve also been making thoughtful bee water stations using shells and stones – a lovely way to support our local wildlife.

With so many wonderful resources to work with, it’s been fantastic to see everyone getting involved and bringing their ideas to life.

We’re really looking forward to filling our craft stall with all of our lovely handmade creations!
