Om mantra 🕉️ is more than a sound we chant; it’s a sacred vibration. In the Hindu tradition Om is understood as the primordial sound, the sound of creation.
The vibration from which all creation emerged and the sound that contains everything that has been, everything that is and everything that is yet to come.
OM is made up of three syllables, each representing a different state of consciousness and a different aspect of existence, followed by the silence that comes after.
A → creation, the waking state
U → preservation, the dream state
M → dissolution, the deep sleep state
The silence after Om represents the fourth state, pure awareness beyond sound.
When we chant OM, we are tuning into something bigger than ourselves. The divine energy that connects us all. The vibration of OM connects our individual energy with the energy of the universe. 📿
The next time you’re in class, notice the silence that follows ✨
