Let me be 1000% clear: this is NOT throwing shade at those who work within postnatal care within the NHS. I am one of them. And on a weekly basis I find myself struggling to do enough for the women and families I look after. Wanting to give me. Striving to share information to help heal.
What this is about, is taking a moment to look at 2 events that can be viewed as miracles. And looking at the time, news coverage, talk amongst family and friends, and equipment (πΆοΈ) that this solar eclipse has generated.
We need to ask ourselves: 'how would postnatal care, and the experience of postpartum mothers be, if we invested so heavily in the Fourth Trimester?'
The impact of robust and supportive, evidence based care cannot be questioned, for not just physical, but emotionally and mental recovery too. To support the journey to motherhood. To support the transition to Matrescence.
Forever and always a passionate supporter of the Fourth Trimester here at Maia Therapies. Let's keep asking questions, sharing information (and eclipse glasses), and bloomin' supporting each others because when we do, magic happens π
