🍕 PIZZA FRIDAY AT WORTHINGTON LAKE! 🍕💛

What a busy and fun-filled Friday we’ve had today! 🥰

This morning we got stuck into making our very own hand-pulled pizzas, starting with our homemade pizza sauce before choosing from a variety of delicious toppings. Everyone enjoyed getting involved, and of course, the best part was enjoying the pizzas we had made ourselves! 😋🍕

There was plenty going on around the home too, with parachute games, musical instruments and singing bringing lots of smiles, laughter and interaction. 🎶🪂

This afternoon we wrapped up warm 🧣🧥 and headed out for a lovely walk around the gardens before visiting The Village Bean ☕️. We enjoyed frothy coffees, cosy fluffy blankets and plenty of lovely chats together. ❤️

Once back at the home, we carried on with our plant pot project, painting our pots ready to plant our cress seeds next week. 🌱🎨 We finished the afternoon with cheese, crackers and drinks while we painted, chatted and enjoyed each other’s company.

🌸 A Day Full of Memories, Music & Fun! 🌸

Today, we were delighted to welcome Carmen from the Archives at Wigan Council for a wonderful reminiscence morning. 💕

Carmen brought along a fantastic collection of toys and everyday items from years gone by—things our residents remembered playing with and using in their homes. 🧸🏠

We enjoyed looking at the items, passing them around, and sharing memories and stories. There were plenty of smiles, laughter, and wonderful conversations as the collection brought back cherished memories of childhood and days gone by. ❤️

This afternoon, we headed to Shevington for our weekly Singing Club! 🎶🎤

We sang our hearts out, played instruments along with the music, and danced the afternoon away. 💃🕺🎵 There were plenty of smiles, laughter, and toe-tapping throughout!

What a wonderful day filled with memories, music, laughter, and togetherness—just what we love at Worthington Lake! ❤️🌸

🌧️ When the weather has other plans! 🌧️

Our planned trip to RHS Bridgewater Gardens was rained off today, so we switched things up and headed to The Flower Bowl and Barton Grange Garden Centre instead! 🌸🌿

First stop — fish and chips for lunch! 🐟🍟 Then a wander around the arena, checking out the ice rink, golf range and bowling. ⛸️⛳🎳

After that, we explored Barton Grange and had a browse around the farm shop before heading home for tea. 🪴🛍️🏡

Plans may change, but the important thing is making memories together, having a laugh and enjoying family time. ❤️

🍋🎾 A Fun-Filled Day at Worthington Lake! 🎾🍋

What a lovely day we’ve had today! 💛

This morning we got our aprons on and baked a delicious lemon no-bake cake 🍋🍰 — lots of mixing, chatting and, of course, a little taste testing! 😋

Then it was time to get moving with our seated sports session 🏐🙌. We had plenty of fun, lots of laughter and some great teamwork.

And once again, balloon tennis was definitely the favourite! 🎈🎾 There were some very competitive rallies and lots of giggles along the way 😀

🌸💅 BANK HOLIDAY MONDAY AT WORTHINGTON LAKE 💅🌸

What a wonderfully relaxed and cheerful Bank Holiday Monday we’ve enjoyed here at Worthington Lake! 💕✨

We started with Manicure Monday 💅, treating ourselves to a little pampering, nail filing, polishing and plenty of lovely chats along the way. 🥰

There were lots of laughs and friendly competition as we played Granny Pants 👵🩷 — everyone got involved and had a fantastic time! 😂

🌸 We also got creative with some beautiful flower arranging, putting together colourful displays while enjoying the lovely scents of the flowers. 💐

🎶 And, of course, no Monday would be complete without a good sing-along! We enjoyed the music of Michael Bublé and Elvis, bringing smiles, happy memories and plenty of toe-tapping fun. ❤️

It was a lovely Bank Holiday Monday filled with laughter, creativity, music and wonderful company. 🥰

🐝💛 FUNDAY FRIDAY AT WORTHINGTON LAKE! 💛🐝

What a fantastic Funday Friday we’ve had today! 🥰

We headed off on an adventure to Applecast Farm and what a wonderful time we had! 🐐🐑🐴🦙 We got up close and personal with all the lovely animals, feeding the goats, sheep, horses, meerkats and donkeys. 🥰

The donkeys were definitely a favourite! 🫏❤️ There were lots of smiles, laughter and happy memories made as we enjoyed our farm visit together.

We were also joined on our trip by our lovely friends from Langtree, making the day even more special! ❤️ It was fantastic spending time together, catching up and enjoying our day out as one big group.

After all that animal fun, we headed off to the garden centre 🌿🌸 for a wander around the shops. Of course, no trip would be complete without stopping for coffee, cake and a good old chat! ☕🍰😂 We enjoyed sitting together, catching up with our friends and taking in everything the garden centre had to offer.

Meanwhile, back at Worthington Lake, we had a very special celebration as we said goodbye and good luck to two of our lovely staff members, Lorraine and Nathan. 💐❤️

We wanted to send them off in true Worthington Lake style… so of course, we had to have a dressing-up dance party! 🎭💃🕺🎶

There were fabulous outfits, plenty of dancing, lots of laughter and some fantastic moves! 😂🥳

Lorraine and Nathan, thank you for everything you have done for us and for all the wonderful memories you’ve helped create. We’re going to miss you both so much, but we wish you every happiness and good luck in your new jobs! 🍀❤️

🌿✨ Wellness Wednesday at Worthington Lake ✨🌿

Today we enjoyed a wonderfully relaxing afternoon here at Worthington Lake with the lovely Lisa, who came to visit us for some much-needed rest, relaxation and wellbeing. 💜

Lisa created such a calming atmosphere, with relaxing lights, soothing sounds and beautiful incense aromas filling the room. We closed the curtains, settled into our comfortable chairs and let the afternoon of relaxation begin. 🕯️🎶

Lisa brought along her lovely rummage boxes, giving everyone the opportunity to explore and engage before we started our treatments. We then enjoyed head massages and hand massages using essential oils, with lavender being today’s favourite choice. 💜🌿

Residents who wished to take part enjoyed their treatments at their own pace, creating a peaceful and person-centred experience. The gentle massages and calming environment helped everyone to relax, unwind and simply enjoy the moment.

By the end of the afternoon, there were lots of sleepy faces and relaxed smiles! 😴😊 It was lovely to see everyone so calm and content.

A huge thank you to Lisa for giving our residents such a beautiful afternoon of relaxation, comfort and wellbeing. 💜

🧇 NATIONAL WAFFLE DAY AT WORTHINGTON LAKE 🧇

Monday was National Waffle Day, and we celebrated in true Worthington Lake style! Our residents enjoyed preparing delicious waffles ready for after lunch, choosing from cream and a variety of tasty toppings. It was a lovely way to spend time together, getting creative and enjoying a sweet treat.

Today has been another busy day here at Worthington Lake! 🐦🌿

We have been busy making bird feeders to help provide food for the wildlife around our home throughout the winter. Once they were finished, we put them outside ready for our feathered friends to enjoy.

We then took a little trip over to The Village Bean, where we enjoyed a lovely coffee, sat in the sunshine and had a good chat together before heading back for lunch. ☕️☀️

This afternoon, we enjoyed some well-deserved manicures and relaxing massages, while others got stuck into our gardening and harvested some of our home-grown potatoes and tomatoes. 🥔🍅🌱

We also spent time painting our bird houses, which are now ready to be put outside for the winter and provide a safe space for the birds around Worthington Lake. 🐦🏡

Today we travelled to The Boars Head Standish, where we met up with our friends from Langtree Care Home.

We had a lovely time browsing the menu and choosing our food and drinks before sitting outside in the sunshine. We enjoyed a relaxed afternoon chatting together and enjoying each other’s company.

Ron had us all entertained as he shared stories from his army days, along with some very funny memories. There was plenty of laughter as we listened to his stories and enjoyed the sunshine.

After a lovely afternoon filled with good food, friendship, laughter and great conversation, we climbed back onto our minibus and headed home 🌝🥗🥪🍺🚌
