âHappy International Nurses Dayâ, everyone!
Being a nurse is more than a career; itâs a choice to show up for others in their most vulnerable moments. I feel incredibly lucky to balance two worlds of nursing that, while very different, both centre on the profound emotional impact of making people feel truly seen.
I am deeply proud of my work with the Childrenâs Acute Transport Service (CATS) at Great Ormond Street Hospital. It is a rare and humbling privilege to provide critical care to the most vulnerable children and their families. This role takes me all over the world, providing a lifeline across borders and ensuring that distance is never a barrier to life-saving expertise. But beyond the logistics, there is an immense emotional weight to these journeys. To hold a parentâs hand in the back of an ambulance or aircraft, knowing you are their childâs greatest hope in that moment, is a responsibility I never take lightly.
As a mother myself, this role has taken on an even deeper resonance. I see my own children in the faces of my patients, and that connection fuels my empathy. It reminds me that every child I transport is someoneâs entire world. This International Nurses Day, I celebrate the strength it takes to give your heart to other families all day and then go home to give that same love to your own.
At the same time, my work in aesthetics allows me to nurture confidence and well-being. There is a unique joy in helping someone feel better about themselves, restoring not just a look, but a sense of self-assurance.
Whether Iâm at 30,000 feet providing critical care or in the clinic, I am honoured to stand among such a dedicated profession. Hereâs to the heart, the hustle, and the healing we bring to the world.
