We did it 🥳

Our full Ironman distance triathlon (which turned into a duathlon) at Nottingham Outlaw was amazing!

3.8 mile run (the swim was cancelled due to blue-green algae in the lake)

112 mile bike ride (very windy!!)

26.2 mile run - a marathon (also windy)

Steve - 14 hours 13 mins

Sarah - 14 hours 29mins

We now have a much needed week off work. Karen is holding the fort!

As you all know, our wonderful Bosses - Sarah and Steve, are competing in the Outlaw Triathlon on Sunday .
This is an ‘Ironman’ distance triathlon and they have both been training super hard over the past 6months.
We just want to wish them all the best of luck for the event.
No doubt they will rise to the challenge and will absolutely smash it 💥.
Good luck, we will cheering you on from our sofas and to us you are already IRON.

Imagine going from completing two full Ironman triathlons to having knee surgery that puts you on crutches for weeks!

Karen had a patello-femoral replacement which is different to a full total knee replacement but the rehabilitation is similar.

Karen is keen to share her story and progress - from initial post op scars and bruising, to her first physiotherapy appointment and then starting hydrotherapy.

I always say ‘hydrotherapy is not swimming’ but when you have a triathlete in the pool who normally trains several hours a week you know they’re going to be desperate to get back to some form of exercise that isn’t physio rehab exercises!

At 6 weeks post op this week we decided it was time for her to try a swim during her hydro session. She was a bit nervous at first but smashed it.

I’m looking forward to assisting Karen get back to competing next year following major knee surgery.
