Blood Moon 27th/28th August 2026
The Moon is not becoming wounded.
She is showing us that entering the darkness does not mean losing your light.
During this deep partial lunar eclipse, the Full Moon will move almost entirely into Earth’s darkest shadow. Around 93% of her visible surface will be covered, turning her copper, crimson or ember-red as sunlight passes through Earth’s atmosphere.
In witchcraft, an eclipse can be treated as a threshold: a moment for revelation, release and irreversible endings. It is not a gentle manifestation Moon. It is a Moon for confronting what has remained hidden and deciding what will not follow you into the next chapter.
Stand beneath her and speak:
“Blood Moon, reveal what darkness concealed. Break the bond between me and all I have outgrown. Take nothing that belongs to my spirit. Return my courage, my clarity and my power. When your light returns, let me return changed.”
Write down one pattern, attachment or false version of yourself that you are ready to leave within the shadow. Tear the paper away from you, then safely burn it in a fireproof dish or bury it away from your home.
In the UK, the partial eclipse begins at approximately 3:33am on 28th August, reaching its deepest point at around 5:12am BST. Look towards the west-southwestern horizon.
The Moon will emerge from Earth’s shadow.
So will you.
