Monday Mindful Moment 🌿✨

Today we explore a path that takes us through a magical mossy area, surrounded by an inviting carpet of green. After all the rain we've had recently, I expect it will be looking even brighter and wetter now.

Moss does an amazing job of retaining water, helping to support the surrounding environment. Bonus points to me for not falling over on camera while jumping the burn! 😄

Monday Mindful Moment 🌿✨

This week, we spend some time watching a pair of newts engaged in courtship. Watch as the male fans his tail to send pheromones towards the female before she approaches and signals her interest by touching his tail with her snout. He then leads her to a suitable spot where he deposits a s***m packet for her to pick up.

Feeling very lucky to have witnessed this fascinating behaviour and a reminder to slow down and notice what is happening all around us!

Monday Mindful Moment 🌿 ✨

Join me for a few moments in the glorious castle gardens up at Gillies Hill, surrounded by a carpet of beautiful pink flowers and twisting rhododendrons. I could quite happily have spent the whole day there, listening to the birdsong and drinking in the beauty of it all 🌿💗

If you're anything like me and love being outside but struggle in the heat, then the woodland is absolutely your friend 🌿

As well as being a beautiful place filled with lovely trees and birdsong, the canopy overhead provides amazing shelter from the sun, and the temperature is often much cooler. Bonus points if you can find a wee burn still flowing to dip your toes in 💧

Monday Mindful Moment 🌿 ✨

Today we're taking a stroll up to the shoreline of the stunning Loch Garten. I love the crunchy, gravelly ground and birdsong as you walk through the trees towards the water, which is so still it’s like glass, reflecting the magnificent view of mountains and forest. It feels almost dreamlike :)

What an absolute pleasure it was to guide such a lovely group through one of my favourite bits of woodland. Spring was very much springing, and despite the cold we had a beautiful morning admiring all the new growth coming through, and spending time with some of my favourite trees 🌳
